This content was provided by Dr. Patel "Dr. Rakesh Patel is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Spine Division, at the University of Michigan. Dr. Patel completed his undergraduate training at the University of California in Los Angeles where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He received his medical degree upon graduation from the New York University School of Medicine in 2000. Dr. Patel did his residency training in Orthopaedic Surgery at NYU-Hospital for Joint Diseases, where he was awarded an Aventis Orthopedic Scholarship NYU-HJD Senior Research Award. After completion of his training in New York, Dr. Patel went on to finish a one-year Spine Fellowship at the University of Wisconsin. Dr. Patel's clinic interests include spinal deformities, spinal fractures, reconstructive surgery (primary and salvage) of all areas of the spine, cervical spine flexion deformity, kyphoplasty and minimally invasive surgical procedures."

He may not have the best bedside manner, but he is the BEST surgeon I've dealt with in 15 years and the only neurosurgeon I've deal with in that time. I would recommend him to anyone, he gave me my options and told me what would happen if I had to have another surgery.

Very nice and knowledgeable Dr. however; his staff is less than courteous. My wife saw him a month ago and she still doesn't know when she will be able to have surgery. We left multiple messages with his nurse AND his scheduling receptionist and it took a week only to hear, we're still not...more

First of all, not sure why the Back and Pain Center in Northville scheduled me with an ortho surgeon to discuss my MRI when I could have told them I didn't need surgery.
