What People Say About Dr. Rakesh Malik, MD

Do not sign in for Dr. Malik because you might end up being treated by someone else, one of the two physicians assistants that they recently hired. Even if Dr. Malik is listed as your primary care physician, they pressure you to agree to get seen by the physicians assistants. The insurance company is then billed as if you were seen by Dr.Malik. This does not seem right to me. If He cannot see new patients, he should not take them. There are plenty of other physicians in Germantown

This doctor is all about the money. I was a patient that came in for my annual check up and express to the doctor that I wanted to quit smoking and if he could prescribe me Wellbutrin which he had done many, many, years ago. He told me he would after I went to one of his associates for a sleep test to rule out seizures. I asked him why and he stated that Wellbutrin enhances seizures with patients who experiences them. I thought this was a bunch of BS, so I went to my GYN who laughed

Dr. Malik is an outstanding physician, who is a keen diagnostician, who truly listens & thoughtfully fully determines my needs healthwise as a 74-year old male. He worked on lowering my blood pressure to the full "normal" of 120's over 70's, by fully assessing my health, determining the optimal mix of BP medication that both kept my BP down while not causing excess fluid retention & assuring no other adverse reactions. He is a very supportive & understanding Dr. I am thankful for having.

I see a myriad of doctors due to multiple health issues. Dr.Malik is both professional and kind. He truly listens to the patient and is open to working until he finds the best answer for you.. he doesn't behave as if he is on a "20 minute" time allowance. I'm very pleased to have found Dr. Malik! His staff is just as warm- from the front desk to the nurse! 5 stars from me!

Dr Malik understands the symptoms first & prescribe the medication accordingly. He also looks at the history if it’s repetitive & in that case suggests a different treatment altogether. Very friendly and I highly recommend Dr Malik as your primary physician.

Dr Malik is an excellent physician but his front office staff appear to be totally incompetent. The don't follow up when they say they will, they do not return calls. They want you to do their job for them (like chasing lab results). Eighteen days and counting on getting my lab results. They were still waiting for them to come in on their own??? Their phone system tells you how great they are while you sit waiting to talk to someone. It grows old when you know better than to believe it.

I chose Dr. Malik to be the PCP of my family three years ago. He is easy to communicate with and very open minded. I like the patient portal and Dr. Malik usually responds to my email within 24hrs. In addition, I'm extremely impressed by the superior skills of the nurses in the lab to draw blood on the two difficult arms of my family members. I recommended Dr. Malik to my sibling and parents.

Dr. Malik is an extremely knowledgeable doctor, who asks pertinent questions to arrive at the correct diagnosis. He is also thorough in prescribing treatment. His staff is pleasant and professional. I have every confidence that I will be 100% better after a visit to Dr. Malik, and that for me is a good reason to drive 8 hours from Myrtle Beach to keep my appointment in Germantown or Gaithersburg.

I have been a patient in Dr. Malik's Practice for almost 8+ years and have found him extensively knowledgeable and professional, His attention to detail is impeccable while listening to symptoms and all the time prompt diagnosis and right treatment have made the visit smooth. His staff is very friendly and the wait time is exceptionally low and it would not be an exaggeration that I barely had to wait for my appointments. The office is modern and clean...........

My experience was very positive...I didn't have to wait, the facilities were clean, the professional staff was very professional and helpful. The nurse was very efficient. The Doctor was friendly, respectable and very approachable and was very thorough in every aspect of my physical exam. I appreciated him taking time to listen to me and then to counsel and advise me regarding my health condition. I liked my experience and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the practice to others.
