When I first visited Dr. Amaro 3 years ago he was interested in my health and made an effort to address my concerns. Now I'm continuously pawned off onto his assistants who have failed in finding any answers to the root cause. They sit with doe in the head lights expressions and offered no sound medical advice. Response times are ridiculously slow and there's so much confusion among the staff in both communication and billing. No, I would not recommend this physician or practice at this time.

I would recommend Dr. Amaro to my family and friends. He took the time to listen to all of my questions regarding my colonoscopy. He was very kind and made me feel at ease as I was quite anxious about the process. The colonoscopy was as easy as everyone said it would be. I’m very thankful that I was in good hands with Dr. Amaro.

Dr. Amaro is excellent! Great bedside manner and very caring. His stall at the endoscopy center was amazing. The registration lady, Aurora, was really nice. My pre-op nurse, Kathleen, was caring and gentle and explained the procedure carefully and concisely. The operating room nurse, Cherie, was just as kind and warm and gentle. The anesthesiologist, Jacki, was kind, funny and made the colonoscopy as enjoyable as it could be. And the recovery team were very professional and kind. I have already recommended Dr. Amaro and this group to my friends and husband.

Dr Amaro and the staff at Texas Digestive Disease Consultants provided excellent care from pre-colonoscopy appointment to post colonoscopy. Very professional, informative, helpful and friendly. It’s too bad that we had to wear masks because Dr Amaro has the best smile. I would happily recommend him and TDDC.

Cedar Park emergency contacted Dr. Amaro on June 28th due internal bleeding, thought was due to an Ulcer rupture. Dr. Amaro told me to come to his office the next day. Saw his P.A. who scheduled me for a scope the following Monday June 6th. I have ulcer bleeding and want me to wait a week to get scoped. Started feeling really bad 2 days later and went to my primary to have my blood checked again, which by now I had lost half and was admitted to the Cedar Park hospital on July 2nd. Dr. Amaro came and saw me in the hospital, since he knew about the bleeding, had his partner do the scope the next day (July 3rd) in the hospital. They found the ulcer, it apparently had stopped bleeding by now on it's own. They took some samples to check for any cancer issues. We are now on July 26th. I have not once spoken to either doctor. Not after the procedure or any follow-up. Called again a week ago and still not call back. Horrible!! They will perform procedures for the money, but follow up sucks!!

I really like Dr Amaro. He has an excellent bedside manner. He is prompt, professional and has an excellent staff. This was my second colonoscopy with him. One thing that touched me was, as my Dad died from colon cancer, he asked if all my siblings were having theirs checked every five years. They are not his patients nor does he know them. He genuinely cares. The procedure went well and I was able to workout early the following morning.
