In March I started to have severe pain at the base of my neck and shoulder. I was diagnosed with a ruptured disc between the C3 and C4 vertebrae. I found Dr. Thai through Healthgrades.com. He performed a discectomy and fusion resulting in eliminating all related pain. He and his staff are the best medical team I have every worked with. He is thorough, explains everything so you can understand it and has great bedside manners. His office admin found us a hotel room as we travelled from PA.

By far the best educated, and most experienced doctor in this list 57 reviews and 5 stars with 4.9 recommendations to friends and family. Stay away from Dr. Subach and the Virginia Spine Institute as they turned out to be a front for a privet unaffiliated group of Drs without connections to actual medical associations ither then the ones they created to sound authentic. Johns Hopkins and Dr Thai are true medical professionals.

Dr Thai is nothing short of a miracle surgeon. I had been suffering from lower back pain for years, with chronic sciatic pain on my left side, shooting down my leg. It became so unbearable, that I couldn't find comfort in any position, whether I was standing, sitting or laying down. I had surgery yesterday morning, and I was up walking the same day, virtually pain free. I did my research to find the best surgeon in the DC area. I highly urge anyone suffering from back pain, to contact Dr. Thai!

He did my anterior cervical fusion to treat weakness in my left arm. After the surgery I had immediate improvement. I have had very little pain at all from the surgery itself (other than swallowing for a couple days because of the breathing tube). Dr. Thai is a skilled surgeon who truly cares about his patients. He even called me the same day outside of business hours to address some post-op activity restriction questions I sent in to his office. I hope he doesn't have to do that for everyone.

I absolutely love Dr. Thai! He may be the best doctor I've ever seen. He is so patient and calm, took his time with me, answered all of my questions in a way that actually made me understand the problem and how to treat it (unlike any other doctor ever has), and is obviously brilliant (and also a professor at Johns Hopkins!). I really trust him and highly highly recommend him. He was born to be a doctor and you can tell he loves what he does.

      Why Does Experience Matter?

Even specialists specialize. One orthopedic surgeon might do nothing but hip surgeries, while another does nothing but knees. If you want the best possible care, it’s critical to match your medical need with the doctor who truly specializes in treating it.
