Doctor Losavio was the 4th Otolaryngologist I went to, to find the cause of intractable nosebleeds I have been fighting for 5 & 1/2 months. Doctor #3 was at University of Chicago. Doctor Losavio, at Rush University Medical Center, was the only doctor who noticed that I have a benign growth high up on the inside of the outer wall of the right nostril, and it is something that bleeds easily and causes nosebleeds. All four doctors examined me with the scope. Only Dr. Losavio saw the lesion.

      Why Does Experience Matter?

Even specialists specialize. One orthopedic surgeon might do nothing but hip surgeries, while another does nothing but knees. If you want the best possible care, it’s critical to match your medical need with the doctor who truly specializes in treating it.

      Dr. Losavio's Care Philosophy

I'm a general otolaryngologist, but specifically the main focus of my practice is taking care of patients with obstructive sleep apnea. Obstructive sleep apnea is where - at night - some patients, their airway will collapse and they have trouble breathing. This will cause symptoms of severe snoring, trying to catch your breath at night. And it could cause problems throughout the day where people don't feel rested and they're severely tired. If we can figure out specifically why is it that you're having trouble breathing at night - where is it in your airway that you're having blockage - then we can specifically tailor a therapy to your situation. The nice part of my profession is that I'm able to take care of people in that 360 degree fashion - where I can see them from the first moment coming into the door, all the way to surgical therapy perhaps if they need that, and on to their recovery and back to their primary care doctor and back to their life.
