Dr. Ley has been my oncology surgeon since 1999. He has operated on me three times for different cancers. He is an excellent physician who truly cares for his patients! No other surgeon will operate on me if I can get him to do it! He is always up to date on new techniques if he isn’t the one introducing them! I had major surgery and he did the nerve block and my pain was very minimal! He’s always available to his patients. Can’t praise him enough!

I have been with Dr. Ley for 2 years since moving to MS from NY. He is wonderful!! He is very well versed in this area and I was quite impressed with his knowledge on hormone treatment. Aside from being a great doctor, that I recommend to anyone!! In fact I was worried about a friend who was told she might have “cancer”, I texted Dr. Ley (yes he gives you a number to text him so he is always available) He got her in the next day, did a biopsy himself in his office, sent her next door for post op mammo, even though he told us about 5 days for results, within 2 she had the results and thankfully it was benign. He is very personable, takes his time to explain things to you, even when you are stubborn (he would laugh at that knowing me lol). My husband wishes he can find a Dr. just like him. I would not go to anyone else in this field, but him!

I am a difficult patient. I am very frightened of pain. If he tells you that he will not let you hurt during a procedure he means it. I have complete trust in him. He is also super smart and knows what he is doing. I wish he was my dr for everything.

Dr. Ley took time to listen to me and my concerns. He explained what to expect before and after my surgery. Our first meeting was not as positive, because he was distracted. Yet, after he saw that I was upset, he slowed down and talked to me. Since then, he has been great. I would highly recommend him. I am thankful that he is taking care of me.

After being referred to a surgeon for a breast lump who said it was fine without any testing and a mother who died from untreated breast cancer, my OBGYN was very concerned and said I must see Phillip Ley. I did and several lumps later, though benign, I am still taken seriously by Dr. Ley, his wonderful nurse and any of his staff of which I've come into contact. He makes sure I am monitored yearly and I feel confident that I am in good hands should any problems occur. I hope he never retires!

Dr. Ley took very good care of me during a very scary time in my life. He gave me his cell phone number to call him or text if I had questions or concerns. He performed my surgery on a day he doesn't usually do surgery so that I could attend my daughters high school graduation later that week. I will be forever grateful to Dr Ley and his staff for the caring way I was treated.

I have worked with Dr Ley as a RN on the telemetry floor and I am a current pt of his. I have seen him cut open a chest in the room and massage the pt's heart all the way to the OR to save his life. I became a breast cancer pt last year and there was no doubt I wanted Dr Ley to be my surgeon! He does not sugar coat things, but he truly is a kind, caring physician. He is a pt advocate and expects nothing but the best care for his pts. I would highly recommend Dr Ley! Madina, his NP is awesome too

Dr Ley is a no nonsense doctor, who knows what's he doing, is compassionate and listens to his patients. I like him because even though what he has to tell you isn't what you want to hear, he finds the best possible way to let you know, while being as honest as he can.
