This content was provided by Dr. Calenda "Dr. Calenda completed his Ophthalmology Residency and his Transitional Internship at St. Vincent's Hospital and Medical Center in New York. He earned his Doctor of Medicine at the State University of New York at Stony Brook and his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Fordham University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and was inducted into the national honor society Phi Beta Kappa. A Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology, Dr. Calenda has lectured for the New York State Ophthalmological Society and his interviews have appeared in a wide range of magazines, newspapers and websites. A former Medical and Surgical Director for various LASIK centers, Dr. Calenda brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the area. He has been in private practice since 1998, and has performed over 9,000 LASIK procedures. Dr. Calenda has performed thousands of cataract surgeries and he uses special intraocular lenses that correct for astigmatism and reduce the need for eyeglasses after surgery. Raised locally, Dr. Calenda and his family reside in Briarcliff Manor. "
