I was referred by another surgeon to Steadman Hawkins. My first visit he asked why was I there. He didn't view any of my files. If he had he would have known I had an MRI done before my visit. He had me to slide my pants off my hip just enough to see the troubled area. No nurse or anyone in the room. Just him and I. No time for me to ask questions or concerns. I left messages for his nurse Janet to call me, No word. Worse Dr ever.

I have had one hip surgery and one revision with Dr Wessinger. He is amazing! Spends as much time with you that you need, explains clearly and completely what your situation is, and is so caring. He was recommended to me by a orthopedic ER doctor who said that Dr. Wessinger is the only one he would go to if he needed hip or knee surgery. I agree.

The first time I saw him, we knew surgery would be the end result. However, he had me do physical therapy in preparation for the surgery. He made recommendations but also spent a lot of time listening to my perspective and answering my questions. When the time came, I was very confident that we were doing the right thing. I am thrilled with the results!

70 yr. old man who has had 5 knee replacements 1st one in 1990. Last year I saw a well know Doc. and he spent maybe 10-12 min. with me , and after looking at my x-rays, told me I needed surgery and let his nurse know if I wanted to schedule the surgery I went to see Dr. Wessinger for a 2nd opinion and he explained the bone loss and severe bone degeneration in my knee, and that I could loose my leg in 3-4 months. He spent more time with me and explained everything. He is caring and compassionate.
