Learn about Dr. Paty

Care Philosophy

I am a surgical oncologist with special training in cancers of the colon, rectum, appendix, and anus.

My interests include surgical techniques for rectal cancer that avoid colostomy and preserve bowel and sexual function, laparoscopic surgery for colorectal tumors, colon cancer in children and young adults, and liver metastases.

My laboratory studies the genetic basis underlying the growth and metastatic spread of colorectal cancer and is developing genetic tests to aid in the management of colon and rectal cancers.

in Rockville Centre, NY |
Dr. Paty performed a lower anterior resection on me, as well as a temporary iliostomy and a reversal. I found him to be an excellent surgeon. He was also very kind and patient with all of my questions and concerns. MSK is a top notch hospital, i am very satisfied with the care I have received, and am still receiving there.
