My experience was five years ago in 2010. I had a very complex triple metacarpal fracture in my primary hand - all three were shattered and displaced. I needed surgery and the best method was not clear. During almost two hours of surgery, Dr. Heyman made difficult decisions as he reconstructed two metacarpals and pinned the major fragment of the middle fracture between the two reconstructions. I had a full recovery with full usage and range of motion. I'm very pleased with Dr. Heyman.

Why Does Experience Matter?

Even specialists specialize. One orthopedic surgeon might do nothing but hip surgeries, while another does nothing but knees. If you want the best possible care, it’s critical to match your medical need with the doctor who truly specializes in treating it.

Dr. Heyman's Care Philosophy

My educational background is in the arts/music (my first love) prior to getting my medical degree and my orthopedic training from NYU medical Center. My hand/microsurgical fellowship was at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard, which I completed in 1991 prior to relocating to Denver, where I have been in practice since. My approach to treating patients is simple...imagine that I am the patient, and imagine how I would want to be treated. And only do what is necessary.
