My area of interest is infectious diseases in pregnancy and their impact on pregnancy outcomes. If you look at Duke were a divergent group of high-risk pregnancy providers. Across the board we have about every medical area covered including genetic conditions infectious diseases and medical complications whatever the patients risk it will be covered at Duke. For most pregnancies regardless of their risk and regardless of what we find we can expect a good outcome. What we really want to do is work with women share the risk information but also to have them feel good about the outcome. Even though they may have a high-risk pregnancy we want them to have pregnancy care that is as stress-free and normal as possible even in the setting of an at-risk pregnancy.
