Dr. Litwin's bio

This content was provided by Dr. Litwin "I have always been fascinated in the workings of the mind, and of course my idol is Dr. Freud, who also shared my passion for understanding the roots of depression and anxiety. I have 27 years of experience and enjoy working with primary psychiatric conditions, as well as psychosomatic disorders such as hypertension, migraine headaches, and chronic back pain. I was trained in this area and have consulted in several major hospitals, including Montefiore, Westchester Medical Center, and Jersey Shore University Medical Center. While i have been unit chief of several inpatient units, my preference is to work with patients in a long-term setting, so that we can not only address any immediate crises but also ensure that each patient is able to function at his or her highest level and enjoy life to the fullest. This takes some time but is worth the investment. "

Care Philosophy

This content was provided by Dr. Litwin "I believe in taking time to understand each individual patient's concerns and challenges, as well as their strengths and assets.   This includes medical and social stressors in addition to psychological needs.   I make use of medication with great care and am always available to discuss any questions or address possible side effects.    I care about each patients' well-being and am happy to include any important family members or friends in the treatment process.   I look forward to meeting you and working out an effective plan together.    In my experience (and based on research) virtually all psychiatric conditions respond well to treatment in a matter of 2-3 months, which is a major reason why i enjoy what I do.   However, most patients either put off seeking treatment or have not had access to effective interventions.  You deserve to feel better!  "

I appreciate the above comments immensely.  For any patients who have not been satisfied with their experiences, I would certainly appreciate some explanation or details to understand this better, since I cannot address concerns if I am not aware of them.  Thank you for taking the time to review my services.

Patient Comments (1)

My experience with Dr. Litwin was excellent. I saw him when he was a psychiatrist at CPC in Freehold. He went up and beyond what was required. He addressed my many physical issues which were impacting my mental health. He understood we are not separate parts, but a whole person. He addressed my...more
