Knowledgeable and meticulous.
I visited Dr. Fitzgibbons several times over 6 years for separate issues. I was deeply impressed with how well he explains issues, and provides detailed care/recovery instructions. Very detailed, very informative,... simply exemplary physician. On one occasion, he followed up on one test result after business hours via phone - I felt humbled and deeply appreciative because I felt like I was taking up his well-deserved time off from work. Each time after seeing him, I never felt the need to go to another hand surgeon for a "second opinion". On the other hand, the staff at Germantown office is at times a bit sloppy and mixes up order of patients. On one occasion, I had to wait over an hour because staff "forgot" that I was in the waiting room. Nonetheless, I would gladly see Dr. Fitzgibbons again, because my health is important to me, and I am prepared to go to a good physician and wait as long as I need to to be seen, even in light of occasional inconveniences from staff.

I went into the Center for Advanced Orthopaedics as a new patient for a thumb injury, and saw Dr. Fitzgibbons. He was friendly and approachable. He took the time to explain my condition in detail, illustrating it by marking up an image of the x-ray. We explored treatment options, and I left knowing more and feeling reassured. Two additional perks which I wasn't expecting were the ease of parking and a streamlined check-in process.

Went to Dr. Fitzgibbons on the advice of my previous ortho practice, as their hand specialist left their practice. He listened to my history, took x-rays and discussed options with me. He was patient, knowledgeable, thorough and very personable.

Before my wrist surgery I searched for hand surgeons in my area. Based on Dr. Peter Fitzgibbons profile and the reviews by others, I decided to meet with Dr. Fitzgibbons. During my meeting he explained the procedures and outcomes for my surgery. I left his office with high confidence to move forward with the surgery. I was also pleased with my post-op meeting discussions and his explanation for the actual procedures during operation. While I am in the recovery period, I have all my confidence that the outcome will be as he explained. If you are looking for a hand surgeon in the area, I do highly recommend to meet with Dr. Fitzgibbons.

Enduring extensive cancer surgeries and lengthy, often gruelling and somewhat traumatizing post op procedures, to say I am leery of seeing a Dr. is an understatement. HOWEVER, Dr. Fitzgibbon immediately eliminated any fear I had. His manner was calm, sincere, and directed to ME, not my chart. He explained my results clearly, thoroughly, and made sure I understood - never appearing condescending nor impatient. Dr. Fitzgibbon is a fantastic doctor, but more importantly, a caring human. When he performed a very complicated, intricate hand surgery on a most dear family member, he made sure that all of us knew before going into surgery what was involved. After surgery he came out and spoke to us IN DETAIL about the ( ?? successful) surgery. Thank you to Dr. Fitzgibbon and a most kind, caring, efficient staff. The Best! Carol Marvil Quase

Dr. Peter Fitzgibbons gives off good vibes and energy. That is very important to me being a Spiritual person. My first vist, I had my Adult Son with me whom is my Full Time Health Care Provider. We both felt at peace with Dr. Fitzgibbons caring personality and his excellent medical advise regarding my Arthritis in my left hand. He made me feel at ease with not getting surgery and to see Steph about a Custom Hand Brace. Steph did an amazing job fitting me in right away. With getting older, my advise is to see a Specialist for each body parts with an Orthopaedic/Orthopedic. I Highly recommend Dr. Peter Fitgibbons-Hand Surgeon and Steph Clement -Occupational Hand Therapist.

Dr. Fitzgibbons is very easy to talk to and takes as much time as is necessary to explain your situation thoroughly. He listens attentively and very patiently answers all my questions. He is a rare find today, as doctors tend to spend as little time with their patients as possible. Besides all I have stated above, he is also really nice. I highly recommend this doctor.

I had medical urgency on my hand. Dr. Fitzgibbons promptly assessed the issue, ordered imaging, and recommendend few imaging centers (I didn't know existed) far better than Wash.Radiol.Association. He promptly called me after reviewing imaging report, explained in detail issue and told me what to do about it. He called afterhours, eventhough he had surgeries all day. In 20 yrs, it's the first time a physician called me to follow up! Staff is a bit sloppy, but I would def. see him again.

Dr. Fitzgibbons is FANTASTIC!!! I had complicated elbow fracture. He performed my surgery and it was a success. After the surgery he referred me to excellent occupational therapist, Steph Clement. I am happy to report that three months after surgery I can do everything I want with my arm. Dr. Fitzgibbons is at the top of his game when it comes to surgical aspects and patient care. I highly recommend him.

He was very helpful the first visit. He finally told me, after 4 years of searching, that I didn't have carpal tunnel, which made me happy, because I knew it wasn't. HOWEVER, the second visit, he was very rude and he did not want to solve my problem after I drove 30 miles to MD from VA. He told me there was nothing he would do and time would fix it. NO, time will NOT fix this, as it has gotten worse and worse over 4 years! This is my dominant hand, I'm only 23, and I need to be able to use it.

I had minimum delay in getting an appointment. He listens well and seems to ask all the right questions. He acts immediately on a course of action that he explains. The outcomes with estimated times are explained in a layman's terms. Future options are likewise outlined well. I can't think of any deficiency in him. The desk staff at the New Mexico office could use some customer service training, however.
