Dr. Peter Bast, MD, completed his bachelor's degree in Biology from Saint Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota. He spent two years researching with the Mayo Clinic Cardiovascular Pharmacology Research Lab. After his two years spent in research, Dr. Bast returned to Michigan where he graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor in 2006. He has done research on retinal degenerative disease in mice, which has led to him co-authoring multiple studies between 2001-2004 along with a 2006 poster presentation. Dr. Bast completed his general medical internship at Oakwood Hospital and Medical Center in Dearborn, Michigan. After, he completed his opthalmology residency at the Scott & White Institute at the Texas A&M University Medical Center. In 2010, he joined Sight Eye Clinic, where he is currently seeing patients.
