I was avery active 68 year old, with occasional clicking of left knee when walking, but no pain and the joint stable. Sasaura X-rayed it and said it looked “horrific” (bone on bone). Thinking to be proactive, I said I’m ready for knee replacement. He said OK – offering no explanation of what was involved, or the risks, or if it was really a good idea for me. 2 days after surgery there was clicking. He said it will go away in a month. 3 months – it will go away when swelling goes down. 13 months - you just have to live with the constant clicking, clunking. He hardly looked at me, didn’t seem very interested. I felt alone. His online report said he went over X-rays thoroughly with me (never did) and pleased with my progress. Now 15 months later, I’m trying PT to correct this unnatural gait, instability, and staggering – constant click/clunk not changed.

Dr. Sass is the absolute BEST! He enabled me to walk again. I had a hip replacement prior to finding him. He was recommended by my surgeon in Jackson who said he was "the Best of the Best" and he certainly is. He is very very caring and personable. I cannot tell you how he stuck with me during Hip and Knee surgeries. Do not hesitate to see him, you won't be sorry. Linda DeMotte

My grandson, at 35 years old, had to have a hip replacement due to a severe infection on October 21, 2018. Dr. Sasaura said he put in a temporary hip with antibiotic spacers and the hip was so unstable that he was not allowed to bear weight for the next 2 months. After 2 months he would put in a permanent hip replacement. But as of today Feb. 5, 2019 he has not performed the surgery. His office said he had to change insurance and he did, but they said they do not accept it.

Knee replacement surgery is extremely invasive and recovery can be almost as painful as the surgery, but Dr. Sasaura was clear with the information that I needed to feel confident that he had the skills and experience necessary to treat me. The annual follow up visits with Dr. Sasaura encourage me to continue physical therapy exercises at home to maintain the best possible outcome.

I had partial knee replacement 6 weeks ago at the Roseville outpatient surgery center. Very impressed with all facets of the operation from the facility and staff to the operating room. Dr Sasaura and his team were excellent! Great bedside manner, pre/ post attention to detail exceeded my expectations. He did a wonderful job and I've already been walking for over 3 weeks now. PT was very important so don't skimp on that. Thanks Doc.. Sincerely, J Peterson. Nevada City Ca.
