Dr Bretton is an excellent and compassionate doctor. I first met Dr Bretton when I went to the ER In intense pain with a large kidney stone that wouldn’t pass. He surgically removed it. I had no problems. At this time he noticed I had a slightly elevated PSA. I had a 10 stick prostate biopsy that was benign. Over the next two years my Psi continued to slowly rise so he ordered a MRI that showed two small suspicious spots that he later biopsies. There was a very small slow growing tumor of Gleason scale 2. I couldn’t have asked for a better urologist that is also a oncologist. I trust him with my life.

Dr Borden and Dr Bretton are excellent Drs. There is poor communication between Staff. I would continue to be seen there if not for the nurses I had to deal with every time before being allowed to speak with my doctor. I have nothing against nurses because I am one. When an office begins to allow staff to run roughshod over patients and keep things from Drs there is a problem. The nursing management was prompt to contact me with my complaints but I still will not return because of two nurses. I even tried to change Drs but was told these nurses rotate with all the Drs. If you choose to see any of the Drs here they are excellent but avoid nurse Stephanie at all cost.

I will never recommend Dr. Paul R. Bretton nor SW FL Urologic Assoc. to anyone. Due to an enlarged prostate and biopsy results of prostate cancer in May 2018, I was referred to Dr. Paul Bretton by his associate, Dr. Jasper Rizzo, both of SW FL Urologic Assoc., for treatment. After several appointments and while testing to prepare for TURP surgery with Dr. Bretton, everything went downhill. I contracted MRSA at one of their facilities in August; surgery in September postponed by me, not Dr. Bretton, due to infection; the TURP was performed in October and I learned he did not remove enough prostate tissue; and after surgery was diagnosed with orchitis epididymitis & hydrocele in left testicle, MRSA still present, which Bretton nor Staff seemed to know how to treat. Needless to say, I sought medical treatment immediately outside of Dr. Bretton and SW FL Urologic Assoc. and my only regret is I didn't leave them sooner!

Told my wife she had a kidney stone that could only be removed with surgery and if it moved the pain would be unbearable. Had the surgery and said there was no stone. She passed it and didn't know it. Won't answer my calls or give me the x-ray. Cost me $5000. for nothing. Have a nice vacation on me.

Stay away from this Doctor. Diagnosed me with a UTI without sending out for a culture. When I returned to His office asking for a report from the Culture He said He never sent one. When I asked why then did You put me on antibiotics for a month without knowing if I had an infection, He replied "Well I thought You DID". So He was Guessing. I quickly found a new Urologist
