We Recently took our son to Dr Abbey after seeing another local ortho Dr first that wanted to do surgery on him, we opted for a second opinion. Both my husband and I have had surgeries from Dr Abbey in the past and new he was the best that could fix an ongoing problem for our son. He did not let us down. 2.5 stars does not give his expertise justice. He is truly the best hand expert in the whole mid state in our opinion. You will not go wrong if you have isssues by using this dr. 1 smart man.

After reading these reviews I have to wonder if we are talking about the same doctor. Of course, bear in my mind that people like to complain more than give praise. I’ve been seeing Dr. Abbey since the mid nineties and he has always been very pleasant. What I like most about him is that he speaks to his patients on the same level and that can’t be said about all doctors. He knows what he is doing and his confidence puts me at ease.

Dr. Abbey did surgery on my Median and Ulnar Nerve at elbow. The results were wonderful. He is a great surgeon. I definitely would go back if I was in need of surgery again.

My one and only appointment with Dr. Abbey was terrible. I went to see him for bilateral wrist, hand and arm pain. He barely listened to me, pointed to my wrists with a pen & sent me off with an RX for steroids. I will NOT refer anyone to him but I had to give him one star because no stars was not an option. I did tell the office manager before I left. The staff and nurses are wonderful. I highly recommend the practice/medical group, Hughston Orthopaedics - just NOT Dr. Abbey.

I went to hime due to tendonitis in my elbo,he said since I was not a high paid football or baseball player, all he would do is a curtozone shot.Eight weeks later I was having pains in my fingers and hand, and was told he fixed the area I was paid to fix and he was done.l went to TOA,and after three visits I had sergery.A year later I am better. After doing my research, curtozone shots are an outdated procedure.

Saw Dr. Abbey this morning. My appointment was 30 minutes late. He entered the room with an attitude, never really engaged in much conversation, Quickly advised that there was nothing that he could do, but did send me for X-rays. To make matters worse, I heard him telling someone outside my room that he'd told me nothing could be done and that I was mad. When I asked him had I heard him correctly, he denied making the statement I would not refer him to anyone and will never go back again!!!!

When our 7 year old son nearly severed the top of his finger, Dr. Abbey was a lifesaver! The ER had roughly patched it up the night of the accident but Dr. Abbey felt it needed to be properly done, that it would be better to go in and make sure all the nerves and vessels were connected well. If not, our son could lose feeling in that tip and it could affect the whole finger. Dr. Abbey did a superb job and you can't even see any sign of a scar. Our son has no problems with that finger at all now.
