This content was provided by Dr. Tan "Patricia Tan, M.D. specializes in the rehabilitation of children with special needs. These include children with neurological, musculoskeletal, developmental, and complex medical disorders. She cares for children with cerebral palsy, spina bifida, traumatic or anoxic brain injury, muscular dystrophy, chronic pain syndromes, spasticity, drooling, torticollis and plagiocephaly. She has expertise in botulinum toxin (Botox) injections for spasticity management and also to control excessive drooling; Phenol and Ethanol injections for spasticity, and the management of intrathecal baclofen pumps. She works very closely with a multidisciplinary team of pediatric specialists, nurses, therapists, and orthotists who collaborate to improve each child's function. Her approach emphasizes early intervention, overseeing a continuum of care and providing family-centered care.
