I started going to Dr. Basuk after other dermatologists prescribed me creams and medications that made me break out variably with acne and rashes. Earning herself 5 stars in my eyes a very long time ago, Dr. Basuk prescribed me creams and medications that resolved my problems without pain or break outs. She has helped me so much during the past 6 years. She is a very smart doctor. Dr. Basuk is an asset to dermatology on Long Island.

A wonderful doctor with a calm, professional, caring presence. She gives a thorough exam and takes the time to answer any of ;her patient's questions and to address any of their concerns. Her concern for her patients is always apparent. If I have to wait a short time, it is worth it to know that if/when I have questions, she will take the time to answer them and reassure me. In additions, her staff is always pleasant. caring, and professional.

This woman is a joke. You wait close to 2 hours before seeing Her. She has her back to you typing on her iPad for the first 5 min after she enters the room. She's too pre- occupied disciplining her staff for their errors.

My mother has seen Dr.Basuk twice. Within each visit my mother has expressed that the Dr. Is very attentive to my mother's medical needs and demonstrates she is very knowledgeable in her field. Mommy saw her as a Second opinion doctor, but mommy has found the doctor that cares for her and is curing her within a short period of time. My mother highly recommends Dr. Basuk and wishes her much success in all she does. We, my mother and I ,thank you for such wonderful medical and patient treatment

I arrived early, was taken to a room, given a paper gown to wear, left there for over an hour. No one checked on me. I was about to get dressed & leave when she stuck her head in, apologized, left me for 5-10 mins more. Finally came in and said she'd been on the phone trying to reach another dr. I was her last patient before lunch -- she couldn't have waited? It was the fastest exam I have ever had. Her exam took literally under a minute. Acted like she was in a hurry to get back to the phone.

I write this review with tears in my eyes because of the gratefullness i feel toward Dr.Basak for saving my daughters life because of early detection of a melanoma. Ive been going to her for about 15 years because i get atypical moles, because Dr.Basak told me to get my daughters checked because of my history she was able to spot a mole that turned out to be melanoma.True sometimes you have to wait about 30-45 minutes, but is your life,or childs life worth the wait?

Professional and efficient. Usually I wait for doctors that I find on a list of top doctors (Castle Connolly) but at this office I was walked to the patient room within a few minutes of arriving. Dr. Basuk spent more time with me than other doctors I have seen. She did not rush me out. Her office was clean. I would recommend her to friends and family.
Dr. Basuk did a fabulous job with cosmetic procedures on my face. She is also very knowledgeable. I came prepared with many questions and she really made me comfortable. I do not remember the last time my skin looked this good. I am really thrilled! Thank you so much! -Karen
Dr. Basuk singlehandedly saved my life. She was the first doctor I visited who discovered my skin cancer. Other dermatologists who I will not name here told me that I should not worry about it. She found it very quickly, she tested it, and she removed it. Throughout the process she followed up with me through phone calls. She is an excellent doctor. She has completely changed my perception of doctors. I am forever indebted to her.

Dr Basuk is a caring, bright Dr. Who cares about her patients and is very informative. She diagnosed my melanoma early and basically saved my life. I am very grateful! She is an expert in her field and on the cutting edge in terms of medical practices. She listens and answers your questions. Cathy Colligan, Babylon.

For over 15 years Dr Basuk has been my doctor. She is so caring and so brilliant. She has done procedures on my face at least a hald-dozen times and I have no scars. I am confident that any other doctor would not have achieved the same results. I moved from Bayport, L.I. to Bethany Beach, DE in 2013 and take the ride to Bay Shore to see Dr Basuk because she us that good !
in Islip, NY |
I never felt comfortable with this office. I had melanoma removed and every visit I had to explain what I was there for and my treatment history. It was like they couldn't be bothered to take a minute and read my chart. The surgical procedures I had performed there were done in an unsanitary manor with out proper care instructions which resulted in an infection. To top it all off, they fraudulently charged my insurance and sent me to collections for stuff they didn't do.
in Carle Place, NY |
I went to Dr. Basuk a few months ago to look at a skin issue and thank god I did. The wait was about 15 minutes, but I expect that since all doctors offices have waits. I have a wedding coming up in December and my dress is open back and needed the skin on my back treated ASAP. In the past I went to a few different doctors for it and they wrongly diagnosed it. Dr. Basuk was really patient and listened to all my questions about my skin issues. She diagnosed my problem that day.
New York, NY |
I never leave reviews but I left this office so upset by the way I was treated by Dr Basuk that I can't help it. I waited over an hour and a half to be seen and when I did see Dr Basuk she was rude and short with me. I felt once she came in and looked she was quick to cut me off and get me out. People who go to dermatologist are usually uncomfortable or concerned about something on their skin as why I was there instead of helping she made me feel like I was a diseased idiot. I will not go back.

I would recommend Dr. Basuk. She is a great doctor all around. Sometimes you have to wait a while, but she is well worth it. The whole staff is great.
in Bay Shore, NY |
I am surprised by some of the negative reviews here. I am a longtime patient of Dr Basuk. I think she is an excellent Physician, warm, caring and probably most important, very thorough in her review of your dermatological needs/condition. She seems interested in me as a patient, and as a person. I find her office environment to be immaculate, inviting and very progressive in adopting technology for record keeping and patient safety. Her office staff have been pleasant to deal with and helpful

never saw her last visit. wait time is unbearable. this time she has other procedured lined up in front of appointment after waiting for 1/2 hr. with no ETA. Had to leave. Will find another dermotologist.
in Bay Shore, NY |
Awful experience every time I go, Dr. Basuk is rude and disrespectful. Wait time in the waiting room is at least one to two hours long. When you finally get in to see her, she is short with you, rude, and treats you like an idiot. I don't care how good of a doctor you are, there is no reason to treat your patients this poorly. She's quick to cut something off without providing full information then leaving you with an awful scar. There are many better Dr's around, no reason to go here.

I have been a patient of Dr. Basuk for approx. 7 yrs now. I could not be happier. She is always thorough with her examine & takes the time to talk to you & ask if there are any questions or concerns.
in North Babylon, NY |
She came highly recommended years ago. I would never see any Dermatologist but Dr. Basuk. I also have referred friends to her who are extremely pleased. Today I had my yearly body check & other concerns. I left her office feeling confident and well taken care of. I have found Dr. Basuk to always address any concerns I may have. Today I walked right in. (You may have a wait but she is the best). Her office staff has always been friendly and courteous.

She was my Dr. for many, many, years beginning in the 1980's until about 2013. I suddenly noticed a change in how her desk staff treated patients. They were less patient, one being rude. I mentioned it to the Dr. who said she'd speak to the person. Then a desk person left and the replacement was even ruder, rolling her eyes at patients, joking about some within clear hearing of the wait room. When the doctor berated me in front of an an assistant I knew this was no longer the practice for me.
