This is long overdue. Dr. Franko was awesome. I fractured my wrist a month after the lock down. I was worried about not being able to find any doctors opened. It was a pleasant feeling getting an appointment and being able to see Dr. Franko for a consultation the same day. Dr. Franko is passionate with his work, he said, this is one of his favorite procedure. After hearing that, I already felt better knowing that I was in good hands. Overall, this has been a great experience. The 1st surgery was to put in the plate to help with the healing. 7 months later, I had a 2nd surgery to remove the plate after my bone was healed. After each surgery, I had PT treatments across the hall, which made it very convenient. Dr. Franko and his staff at East Bay Hand Medical Center are amazing. The Physical Therapists and their staff in East Bay Hand Therapy were great. It was a wonderful environment to be in when you're injured and not in the right mindset. Thank you very much!

I arrived to a large group of people waiting for a COVID test in front, as it's in the same complex. Off putting, but I navigated there without too much trouble. I got into the waiting room wondering if I was in the right place. Very dingy and sad place. I checked in. There was a clip board and a cup of pens. No "these are sanitized" or any noted precautions. I went to get a seat to fill out paperwork. I looked through the smattering of mis matched chairs to select one that looked sanitary. I noted the 2 I looked at were dis-gusting!! Like what the what?!?!? Badly stained from some liquid long ago. Each of them. The carpet also was gross. THIS is the person who is going to cut me open? I told the receptionist that I was leaving. It was just gross. If the doc is that tolerant of filth in the waiting room for as long as it's been there, in COVID times (!), how could I feel he was detail oriented about anything. I have NO idea how the 141 stellar reviews weren't put off by this.

My 12 yo son saw Dr. Franko for a sports-related hand injury and the doctor explained everything (x-ray, care, after-care, etc.) clearly and made us feel very at ease. Follow up appointment was just as smooth. Also, he was on time for both appts which I really appreciate.

I was referred to Dr. Franko for a distal humerus fracture. He was able to see me and perform surgery less than one week after the injury. He has excellent communication skills and is a brilliant surgeon. He was able to explain the injury and method of repair in a way that was easy to understand. Less than two months after the surgery, I am thrilled with my recovery. He is the epitome of professionalism. I highly recommend him. I wish that I could give him more than five stars.

Dr. Franko is amazing. My daughter had a Bennet fracture that required surgery. He was patience and kind. Work with us to develop the strategy. Given she was a young, He takes a conservative starting point. He thoroughly explained the procedure and was available by phone on the weekend after her surgery. He responded immediately to any questions

First specialist to try and figure out my injury, which at that time, I still had extreme pain. Dr Franko referred me to onther ortho specialist but his practice was busy and first appy was weeks away. We found another specialist in SF who discovered the problem. All I know is Dr Franko was kind enough to see me immediately and even though he was more of a hand specialist, he did the best he cold for me.

I made an appointment. Gave the person on the phone my insurance information. Spent 2.5 hours in the car driving only to find out that they can't see me due to my insurance. I wasn't planning on leaving a review, but then I got a follow up email from the office thanking me for my visit and hoping that I was "satisfied" with my treatment plan and asking me to leave a review. So, here you go. In this day with ridiculous insurance policies the office needs to do a much better job of pre-authorizing care. On top of my time lost driving, I'm a musician for a living and the time lost for me in resolving my hand issue is incredibly costly on so many levels. I even offered to pay for the visit out of pocket with cash but they still couldn't see me.

I enjoyed being seen by young Dr. Franko. It's hard to believe he has only been practicing for 4 years. He was very direct, made eye contact, and seemed to understand my mobility and pain issues right away. I appreciated his professionalism and compassion. He dressed well, clean, and professionally, as well. I was pleased and truly believe I am in the best hands! (pun intended). He took immediate action and put me on a 3 month path towards healing with Physical Therapy support. The staff were also attentive. I appreciated the whole process.

I had a great experience with Dr. Franko after I fractured my wrist and recommend him highly. Dr. Franko's care was top-notch - he calmed my nerves, explained my options clearly and without pressure - and performed the treatment superbly. Additionally, his office staff is professional and efficient - easy to make an appointment - welcoming in person. I was able to get into the office right away - they even called me back to let me know an earlier slot was available after I made the appointment .
