Horrible experience
We worked with a therapist before surgery to help our son deal with his current pain and the pain he would experience after an extensive surgery. He was in severe pain for 2 years prior to surgery. We had traveled from out of state to have this surgery. Wellisch dismissed the pain chart that my son and his therapist created, he would not even look at it. Was RUDE and condescending. Stated that we should only use positive words to describe pain and that ALL pain was the same. My son was only 11 at the time.

Dr.wellish is the most unprofessional Dr. Ever his entire team as well. My mother has had the worst experience I'm truly disappointed what has happen to Stamford health? He did not fill my mother prescription after she saw him at 9:30 am my mother has to call pharmacy to make sure her medication is in stock. The MA Maria Ruiz follows suit with her unprofessional behavior. My mom cried due to her pain. Dr. Welsh showed her he is in control and he will move and his own unprofessional pace.

Dr Wellisch accused me of taking barbiturates after a urin test said it was positive. I have never taken them in my life!!!! So now he refuses to give me anything for the horrible bursitis pain in my hip that leaves me walking with a limp because of the pain!!! What kind of an unbelievable cruel doctor does this and after seeing him for many years. thinks I’m taking barbiturates????? Please stay away from this CRUEL and ICE COLD dactor!!!!

I had a terrible experience with Dr Wellisch. It seems you must always wait hours, then when you see his PAs, they are slow and uninformed. Finally, the Doctor comes in and tells you about his last vacation or his stock portfolio... If that's what you want, go for it. But if you want a caring doctor who is there when you are in severe pain, FIND ANOTHER DOCTOR!!!

Having had a chronic condition for years I had to go to the emergency room only to encounter this monster. He shouldn't be taking care of people.

Dr Wellisch is an incredible doctor. If you are looking for a doctor to prescribe you Opioid pain meds, seek out a different doctor. I have an enormous amount of chronic pain due to past injuries. He listened to me and has me on a safe regiment of medication and addresses new issues as they arise with helpful treatments. Extremely smart and actually cares about the way you are feeling, mentally and physically. Glad I found him!

Terrible Doctor with even worse bedside manner. Scolded and lectured me for crying even though I explained it was due to pain and exhaustion. He kept pushing a medication I stated again and again was dangerously contraindicated for me and he was upset that I refused it. Being lectured by a Dr. for crying was one of my worst medical experiences in my lifetime. He should work in a lab and not have patient contact. The experience felt degrading. Find a better Dr than Ofer Wellisch.

For lack of a better word “horrible”. Poor communication skills, insensitive, doesn’t return phone calls, nor the staff to cover his shortcomings. I’m amazed he is still practicing.
