Dr. Perinpanayagam's bio

This content was provided by Dr. Perinpanayagam "Dr. Perin is a pioneer in developing closed, endoscopic surgical techniques for treatment of the spine and spinal cord, including traumatic, neoplastic, degenerative, congenital and inflammatory disorders. Dr. Perin is one of the few surgeons in the world to perform endoscopic thoracic spinal surgery. This technique results in less post-operative pain and a faster recovery time for the patient. Dr. Perin is the author of the textbook "Thoracic Spine Surgery", which is used in medical schools around the world. Thoracoscopic spinal surgery is a minimally invasive surgery in the thoracic spine. Minimally invasive techniques reduce access related tissue trauma, resulting in less post-operative pain and reduced shoulder girdle disability (associated with the open thoracotomy). Since there is a shorter hospital stay and post-operative recuperation, patients return to work and other activities sooner."

De Perin conducted ACDF surgery for me. He and his team, including an otolaryngologist, could not have done a more precise, clean, professional surgery. His work is above and beyond. Just out of surgery, I had no hoarseness or unusual symptoms or issues. Standard pain but that is all. I'm home now...Read More

Dr Perin, was the only surgeon out of 5 (even one from the Mayo Clinic) who was confident enough to remove a tumor from my pelvis area. All the other surgeons reported they had never removed a tumor in this location. He is wonderful, very professional, friendly and an amazing Surgeon.
