My practice comprises of patients with asthma chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) sarcoidosis bronchiectasis and other lung diseases. I am the Director of the Duke Asthma Allergy and Airway Center and enjoy taking care of patients with complex pulmonary problems. I believe in providing care for patients in a compassionate way and I encourage open communication and honesty. I also work in the medical intensive care unit taking care of patients and helping families to understand the complex issues facing their loved ones as they struggle with critical illness. I value having the privilege to be present when patients are most in need of care and support. The interactions that I am able to have on a daily basis with patients families and colleagues bring me great joy and satisfaction.
