What a surprise I got today. Went for my regularly scheduled appt. No Dr, no staff, office empty locked, phones disconnected. Okay. What happened since I saw him last? No notice. Where are my records? Long time patient as well as my Mom. Hoping to get answers from Amita Health. They have him listed as a leave of absence.

I have been with Dr. Sakka since 2010. I never had a problem when I was under his care. In Feb, I had called to reschedule for the later part of March. In the meantime, I received a phone call from SLA. I was informed that I had been referred to them by Dr. Sakka's office for future treatments. They need my medical records. I called Dr. Sakka's office. Answering service picked up. I was informed Dr. Sakka no longer in practice. She took my information requested medical records to be faxed to this new office. Today I received a call from them, they never got the records. I called Dr. Sakka's office again and answering service said that his office is closed. No staff available. How can he leave his patient's hanging dry like this? Retired? This does not sound right.

I have been seeing "Dr" Sakka for 10 years and I called to get refills and an answering service called and said he retired! At age 51 doubt it. Looks like he bailed in the midst of a pandemic, how horrible! No notice, no new Dr to go to, Nothing. How can he call himself a Doctor?! Hope he never tries to practice medicine in the USA again.

I saw Dr. Sakka @ the Sleep Clinic at LGH; a hospital I've been going to for 35+ years. Waited 6 mths for an appt. Bad experience; clinic is unorganized & run very poorly. I went there to see if I had sleep apnea - which I do. Dr. Sakka reviewed the questionnaire I filled out, asked me some questions, then said I needed a sleep study. I told him I wanted to do the home test. He said his staff checked with my insurance (BCBS-IL) and they REQUIRED me to do the test in the sleep clinic; a home test wasn't covered. I did a sleep study in the clinic. The $5,700 claim was denied by BCBS-IL as "not medically necessary"; they would have covered the home test. He appealed to BCBS; claim was denied again. I'm still waiting for a copy of his appeal letter - 4 months after it was written. I've requested it multiple times. Perhaps an honest mistake was made by his staff, but as a doctor he should know what test a patient needs. He isn't a doctor I can trust. Too much smoke & mirrors.

Dr. Sakka is wonderful and most of the staff was friendly and nice. There is one of the girls, the one that has answered the phone every time I've called, that is so mean, nasty, and rude! I've seriously considered finding a new Dr. just because she is so horrible to deal with. But so far I really like him so I haven't yet.

He is a 'gone in 60 seconds' doctor. You would be lucky if he listens to even one sentence. I had to draw this to the attention of my primary care physician who referred me to him. His medical notes are sloppy and careless. Stay away from this guy, will never ever recommend to anyone.

Office help misread my cpap records almost cost me my medical card for my D.O.T . My wife had to make multiple visits . I made multiple visits, finally they open the computer records to see I've been up to date on the required time of use of my machine. I returned to my D.O.T doctor with the record. She was surprised to see the change in the record. I'd never recommend these people!
