Dr. Nicolette Horbach earned her Bachelor of Science degree magna cum laude in Biology from Wellesley College in Wellesley, Massachusetts, and her medical degree from the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri. She continued her training with an Internship and Residency in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Horbach then went on to a Fellowship in Gynecologic-Urology, Laser and Pelvic Surgery at the University of California, Irvine, and Women's and Memorial Hospital in Long Beach, California. Board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Horbach maintains hospital privileges at Inova Fairfax Hospital, Suburban Hospital and Shady Grove Adventist Hospital. She has been in practice with Mid-Atlantic Pelvic Surgery Associates since 1996, and additionally serves as Clinical Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the George Washington University Medical Center. Dr. Horbach has been the recipient of numerous honors and awards throughout her career, including being named to Top Doctor lists in US News and World Report, Castle Connolly, Good Housekeeping, Washingtonian Magazine and Northern Virginia Magazine. Dr. Horbach is an Editorial Reviewer for Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology and American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a member of the American Urogynecologic Society and Society for Gynecologic Surgeons. In addition to being quoted in a variety of national consumer magazines, Dr. Horbach is the author of dozens of articles in peer-reviewed publications and book chapters as well as the author or editor of two books. She is a frequent invited presenter at medical conferences around the country as well.
