Board certification should be one of your top considerations when choosing a doctor. Board certification is an official recognition given to doctors who have met specific requirements set by national medical specialty boards in the United States.
Board certification indicates that a doctor is highly qualified in the medical field in which he or she practices. A board-certified doctor is more likely than a non-board-certified doctor to have the most current skills and knowledge about how to treat your medical condition.
I trained at Johns Hopkins for dermatology residency. My background as an internist combined with my training allow me to treat skin conditions of all severities and in the context of a person's entire medical history.
My role as program director at a residency training program provided me with years of experience not only caring for patients but teaching how to care for patients. This allowed me to do full spectrum medical dermatology as well as hands on training with a variety of lasers and injectables.
