Care Philosophy

Patients who are currently in therapy and seek medication management will be treated and their therapist will be contacted to coordinate services and treatment goals. For new patients who are not in therapy; they can choose to get medication management as well as psychotherapy by the same provider. Providing both services by a psychiatrist is preferred by some patients as it saves time and money. I spend a long time in the diagnostic interview process (90-120 minutes) to reach proper diagnosis. The patient /parent get to explore and discuss all treatment options and make an informed decision of the best one. I provide individual, family and couple counseling in addition to psychopharmacological management. I coordinate medical care with the PCP and other providers as needed. I am a patient advocate when needed with school, insurance companies, etc... I practice the old style medicine as far as spending enough time, don't rush to diagnose or push medications unless needed. Open mind is a key in my practice, every person/parent is unique and I personalize my approach to each person to guide them through a better mental health and a more productive and happier life.Read more

Why Does Experience Matter?

Even specialists specialize. One orthopedic surgeon might do nothing but hip surgeries, while another does nothing but knees. If you want the best possible care, it’s critical to match your medical need with the doctor who truly specializes in treating it.
