Dr. Prager installed my pacemaker on Wednesday, July 22, 2020. He was recommended by my cardiologist, Dr. Nampalli Vijay, who no longer does pacemaker insertion procedures. Since I had never met Dr. Prager, my wife and I felt more comfortable if we could meet him prior to the procedure. We were impressed that on very short notice Dr. Prager agreed to meet us and rearranged his schedule for us to meet with him at his office on Monday, July 20. Meeting him provided my wife and I with the comfort level we needed for me to go confidently into the pacemaker procedure. We were impressed with Dr. Prager and are happy to give him an excellent recommendation here.

Dr Prager has been my cardiologist for many years. Always professional. He may seem to spend little time with you but you never feel rushed. He is always friendly, polite and willing to take the time needed to discuss any concerns. I feel he is excellent in his field and have recommended him to friends,

My husband sees Dr. Prager. Dr. Prager was the Cardiologist who recommended and put my husband’s ICD/Pacemaker in. We have been through three ICD/Pacemakers and Dr. Prager has been the doctor who has done the replacements. Dr. Prager also has helped my husband when he had issues getting back to work. He personally talked to us and helped clarify things with the company. When I needed to see a cardiologist, there was only one doctor I wanted to see and that was Dr. Prager.

Dr Prager implanted a pace maker in me on Oct 28, 2010 and it has served me extremely well. I have had no trouble with it and have complete faith in the devise. On my last visit I was told that it will last another three years, indicating a total of eleven years of faithful use. My visits to Dr Prager and his staff have always been pleasant and courteous. I have always been treated in a timely fashion and the visit is always in the shortest amount of time.

Dr. Prager is a great, attentive and compassionate physician. I have been his patient for years and I suffered from arrhythmia which in my case was not life threatening but severely emotionally disabling because it was so disconcerting to feel as though my heart was jumping around in my chest. I did see other cardiologists for the condition and it was Dr. Prager who resolved the issue and gave me a new lease on living my life to the fullest.

If you are looking for heart care, you could not find a better physician. He treated me on an emergency basis for a heart attack in 1997. He is now treating me for a afib condition. I believe that Dr. Prager provides the best cardiac care possible.

About Me

Biography

Nelson Prager, MD, FACC, FSCAI, FHRS, FAHA has been with ADCA since 1993. Dr. Prager's interest is in cardiac electrophysiology, heart rhythm disturbances and coronary artery disease. He has done research and published articles in both areas. He chose cardiology because it allows him to see a wide spectrum of patients. He enjoys taking care of patients and the electrophysiology involved in cardiology. Dr. Prager is a third generation Coloradoan and grew up in Denver attending Cherry Creek High School. He attended the University of Colorado, Boulder, receiving an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering and Biochemistry. He received his medical degree from the University of Colorado Medical School, and he completed his postgraduate training in Denver and his cardiology training at Washington University in St. Louis at Barnes Hospital. Dr. Prager actively practices at Denver-area hospitals including The Medical Center of Aurora, P/SL, and Sky Ridge Medical Center. He also travels to Ogallala, Nebraska to help with their cardiology needs. Dr. Prager is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the Society for Cardiology Angiography & Interventions. He is also a member of the North American Society of Pacing and Electrophysiology, American Heart Association and the Council on Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis & Vascular Biology.
