Dr. Kumar almost a year ago did a triple play surgery on my left shoulder and he was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. He and the staff at Brandon Orthopedic kept me informed throughout the entire procedure from first visit until today which was my last visit. The surgery was a complete success and I have full use of it and no more pain! Thanks Dr. Kumar YOU ROCK!

Set expectations at the pre operation appointment were not met and has been a let down. I still have not received a follow up call or a response to my voice mails left to see how the operation went. My surgery was 4 days ago. The nurses at St. Joes South have no idea what they are doing and do not communicate any delays to patents. I waited 5 hours until surgery. 3 hrs into my wait the is when I finally saw the gas dr. and expressed my concerns. My phone was locked inside a locker when I arrived, and could not communicate with the party waiting on me to be released from surgery. When my wife called to check on me, she was not provided any updates. Physical therapy was suppose to be in contact for what I should be doing prior to my 1st post opt appointment. I still have no idea what physical things I should be doing to help the healing process. The 6 different medications are not sitting well with me at all. One would think I would at least get a follow up call to address my concerns.

I went to see Dr. Kumar for a torn achilles tendon. Having been in the medical industry for 18 years, I can say I couldn't have picked a better surgeon. I left my first appointment feeling very comfortable due to him taking the time to explain the injury, the surgery and the recovery process. When it came to surgery he was very detailed and passionate about his work. My outcome couldn't have been better and while surgery isn't fun, I couldn't be happier with my experience. I would highly recommend Dr. Kumar.

It was a follow up visit (6th month from hip surgury). Dr Kumar did a thorough exam and then answered my questions on why I have "some pain" still and what I need to do next. I was a bit concern when I went in but completly comfortable when I left. He is a true professional and very personable. I have recomended him several times to others due to his skills and his expertise in Sports Medicine.

Dr. Kumar and staff was phenomenal throughout the whole experience including rehab. He repaired a rotator cuff and re-attached bicep. Answered every question, was very thorough about explaining the surgical process, and managing expectations (great bedside manner). The front office staff was exceptional about explaining medical billing responsibilities and scheduling (It's rare in my experience to have a front office that organized).

Dr. Kumar provided exceptional care and patient services. He and his staff demonstrated the highest professional competency during all phases of my injury. Dr. Kumar provided me a comprehensive understanding of the extent and impact of my injury with honest and pragmatic courses of action. Faced with tears to rotator cuff, bicep, and labrum, I moved forward with the surgery. It's been a little over 8 months and I can report the surgery and rehab went well. Dr. Kumar and his staff have my strongest recommendation.

Dr. Kumar was excellent when he performed the surgery to re-attach my bicep tendon to the bone. When I went to his office he checked my arm and said when are you free for surgery and I asked him when he was free and he replied I'll be ready when you say so.He has a good manner about him, he makes you feel relaxed and confident with his abilities as an orthopedic doctor & surgeon. He has also treated my left and right knees for pain and they both are fine and NO Surgery was needed.

Dr. Kumar is knowledgeable, personable, and competent. I sought his expertise for a second opinion on what turned out to be a torn meniscus in my left knee. Surgery was an option for me because I’d already tried physical therapy for months (as assigned by a previous orthopedist from a different practice) without experiencing significant pain relief or return to normal function. During a diagnostic arthroscopy Dr. Kumar found, in addition to the torn meniscus, a cartilage tear in the patella. He successfully repaired those two issues as well as provided a healing catalyst through the injection of bone cement to the tibia which had incurred several stress fractures and swelling due to stress from the torn meniscus. I highly recommend Dr. Kumar as a physician and surgeon and am grateful for his wisdom and attention to detail concerning my case. With follow up physical therapy, my knee feels normal (#awesome) again from what were at worst debilitating and at best annoying injuries.
