Dr. Neil Atodaria is a native of Arizona and has spent most of his life in the Valley. Upon graduating from high school, he was accepted to college and medical school at the same time and earned a combined BS/MD degree in Ohio. After medical school, Dr. Atodaria spent a year pursuing research opportunities with the University of Arizona ophthalmology program. There, he began to cultivate his interest in glaucoma as well as his desire to help medically underserved populations. Part of his research included a vision screening program for children of the Tohono O'odham Nation in southern Arizona. During his subsequent ophthalmology residency at the University of Arizona, he held the distinguished position of Chief Resident. He pursued additional advanced training, completing a prestigious fellowship in glaucoma at the Moran Eye Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Returning to the Valley was always a goal for Dr. Atodaria, and in 2005 he joined Barnet Dulaney Perkins Eye Center. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma and advanced technology cataract surgery. He serves patients in our Phoenix, Mesa, Sun City and Surprise locations.
Dr. Atodaria is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the Phoenix Ophthalmological Society. In addition to providing care in our practice, Dr. Atodaria enjoys volunteering his time and expertise for the benefit of those who are less fortunate. He has worked with a local Native American tribe and performed cataract surgery in Ghana, West Africa. Soon, he will travel to India as part of a medical mission team. Outside of medicine, Dr. Atodaria enjoys the outdoors, sports and raising his two children.
