Dr. Patel says...

As a cardiologist, I believe in the complete care of the cardiac patient from primary prevention to treatment of acute illness. In addition to general cardiology, I hold advanced training in complex coronary intervention (angioplasty/coronary stenting), peripheral vascular intervention and minimally invasive aortic valve replacement.  From your initial office consultation through any testing or procedures you may need, myself or one of my colleagues can offer you exceptional care in any branch of cardiovascular disease.

Dr. Patel says...

In addition to expertise and board certification in all general cardiac diagnostic and therapeutic modalities, I have advanced training and board certification in interventional cardiology.

I perform cardiac catheterization and coronary stenting for the diagnosis and treatment of coronary artery disease.  I have performed over 1000 coronary stenting procedures including high risk cases with an exceptionally low complication rate.

In addition to treatment of coronary artery disease, I perform angiography and stenting for the diagnosis and treatment of peripheral arterial disease (blockage in the arteries of the legs).

In conjunction with the Stony Brook University Heart Institute, I perform minimally invasive aortic valve replacement commonly known as TAVR (transcatheter aortic valve replacement).  This procedure allows for the replacement of a blocked aortic valve, previously only possible by open heart surgery, via a catheter based procedure allowing for quicker recovery.
