      Dr. Azimi is a well respected interventional cardiologist with expertise in angioplasty, stents, peripheral angiograms and stenting, as well as structural heart interventions.  He is involved in Transcatheter Aortic Valve replacements.  He is awared national STEMI champion award by Sharp Healthcare for his outcomes involving heart attacks to be the best in the country.  He has been recognized as San Diego's Top Interventional Cardiologists by San Diego Magazine 2013,2014 and also by Castle Connoly for 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016.  

      He is chief of medicine and chair of endovascular at SGH.  He is on the board of directors of the California ACC.  He is on Editorial Review Board for multiple medical journals.
