As a long-time Duke physician I love my work -- caring for patients educating students training new rheumatologists mentoring/advising others and advocating for a supportive work environment for all faculty through my campus role. My philosophy of care is to be a partner to patients and to their families as we talk over options regarding treatments and lifestyle changes for better health. Family and home are very important to me. My husband and I have adult twin children of whom we are very proud. We live in the country north of Durham and have many dogs and cats who actually have rescued us. I travel to Richmond Virginia often to see relatives where I grew up. I enjoy photography (landscape nature even a few weddings) in my spare time sharing cards and framed photographs with friends family and co-workers.
