This doctor did not conduct a thorough physical exam but came up with a common diagnosis based on my age, gender and brief Q&A. He then claimed that I had fibromyalgia when pain levels continued after limited treatment. I obtained a second opinion from a more experienced and more thorough Rheumatologist who was able to correctly diagnose and treat my disease. Don't bother to see this doctor if you have complex symptoms....

Dr. Alikhan has done nothing for me except ring up bills. He has disputed every diagnostic conclusion and treatment course I've worked through with prior rheumatologists. He has dismissed my prior experiences, insisting on recommendations that I've already tried, leading to identical failures. He has ordered expensive and unnecessary lab tests (e.g. genetic tests that I've already had done). He has messed up prescriptions and prior-authorizations. He just doesn't listen to the patient.

I have been seeing Dr Alikhan for over a year and have been very, very pleased. He has a terrific bedside manner and is very willing to remain with you to answer any and all questions and concerns you have about your treatment. I have found him to be very up to date with the variety of medications available and their pros and cons. His staff is also top of the chart -- very pleasant and easy to work with, always smiling and responsive to your needs. I can recommend him without reservation!

I would highly recommend Dr. Alikhan for anyone seeking a rheumatologist. He is very thorough and always takes time to explain things to me; he doesn't make me feel like he's rushing through my appointment to get to the next patient. I had been bounced around from Doctor to Doctor without a diagnosis and feel like I am finally on the right path of managing my relapsing polychondritis.

Bedside manner leaves a lot to be desired. He does not believe a patient when he/she states is sick. Instead of helping a sick patient he lectures them. He is dishonest/unethical. My husband was there as he stated which Meds he would provide and then he doesn't fill them. I said to my husband, you heard him state x, y and z. But, most of all you shouldn't have to prove being sick. I have no reason to pretend at any such thing. I'd much rather be out enjoying so manyoyhet things!

I was not impressed. The two times that I went in, I felt like it was a consult. I have lupus and he doesn't go through the checks like Dr. Friedman. Like checking the hands, legs, having you do stretches etc. I would tell him things that are going on and his reccomendation was to do Pilates and excercise. I don't think he read my profile, my body is very sensitive to strenuous workouts. I will be getting my records and looking for a more experience Doctor.
