Kind, Thorough, Results-Oriented
Dr. Shaikh possesses a rare combination of qualities including taking time to answer questions, ensuring I've asked all my questions, and a warm personality. And, most importantly, he's gotten results that help relieve pain. Also, his staff in the Grapevine office has been especially kind and helpful. Especially, Candace.

STRESSING
I require anesthesia prior to any procedure. This has been discussed and has been done before. I must argue with 4 nurses every time. I have gone to the bathroom in heaves twice from anxiety. It is very painful since I have an empty stomach. You can hear everyone’s medical info and can see everyone get prepped and stuck. It is not private and begging for anxiety medicine is so degrading.

Dr. Sheikh did what no other physician was able to do for me - detox off of opiates. I came to him with cancer pain and a bad opiate addiction, and he smoothly transitioned me off of hydrocodone, oxycodone, and hydromorphone. He was always very patient, and his bedside manner in the clinic made us feel like he had a genuine interest in seeing me drug free.

Dr. Shaikh listens very closely to everything I say, and discusses the possibilities I have to help with pain. I have seen many doctors - have been talked down to, dismissed - Dr. Shaikh is not that doctor. He is kind and tenacious when it comes to trying various techniques and medications to help with pain. I highly recommend him.

I recently started Dr Shaikh after 13 years with 2 previous pain doctors. I am beyond impressed with Dr Shaikh’s progressive approach and knowledge of pain mgmt and treatment options. In addition, Dr Shaikh is very friendly and informative. He spends time at each appt to ask questions and really understand what’s working or not working, etc. He is not the standard pain doc that breezes in the room for five minutes and rewrites the same script regardless of the patient feedback or concern. I am someone who absolutely hates changing doctors no matter what the situation. Dr Shaikh is hands down the best decision I have ever made in changing doctors. I highly recommend Dr Shaikh to anyone looking for an outstanding pain doctor now or for future reference.

I have been seeing Dr. Shaikh for over 2 years now for chronic pain. He has a wonderful bedside manner and is willing to continue to research possibilities for a particular pain issue (whether the treatment is something he performs or not).
