Dr. Miguel Lis-Planells is passionate about providing his patients with personalized and compassionate care. He recognizes that most of his patients when they arrive in his office are challenged by back and neck pain. As a general neurosurgeon, he uses both traditional surgical techniques, minimally invasive procedures and non surgical options to help relieve or improve his patients pain or spine disorders.
He has conducted extensive research in neurosurgical management of pain and is a national and international lecturer in spine surgery. He also specializes in peripheral nerve surgery.
Dr. Lis-Planells completed his medial degree at the University of Our Lady of Rosary, Bogata, Columbia. In the United States he completed two fellowships, one at the University of California - Irvine and the second at Wayne State University.
Recognized by the Research Council of America, he received "American's Top Surgeon" awards in 2007 and 2008.
Dr. Lis-Planells speaks fluent Spanish and offers his Spanish speaking patients the opportunity to discuss their case in Spanish. He also provides comfort to his patients in the form of expression of their faith.
