Care Philosophy

This content was provided by Dr. Wood "The Cardiac Surgery Program at MountainView Hospital is focused on maximizing continuity of care by providing an individualized, unique patient experience. As a primary care physician, you know your patients better than anyone else. Therefore, it is our mission to involve you in their inpatient care at every step along the way. From the Operating Room to the dedicated Cardiac ICU and Progressive Care Unit (PCU), our cardiac nurses are specially trained and have successfully completed a rigorous course that includes several proctored cases. In addition, we offer increased staffing in both the Cardiac ICU and PCU. Your patient will receive 1:1 nursing care for up to 24 hours while in the Cardiac ICU. Once they are downgraded to the PCU, they receive 3:1 nursing care."

I thought that Doctor Wood and his team were a group of Angels sent from Heaven. My triple by pass surgery came as a complete surprise but every second of the way, I knew I was with the best cardiovascular team available .

Dr. Wood is a Cardiac surgeon. He is not only excellent at his craft but he is compassionate and displays warmth and goes beyond duties for his patients. My husband is a very complicated case and Dr. Wood treats him as a person not just a "heart case." He is a rare individual.
