San Antonio, TX |
Dr. Mike Vaughn has helped solve an immunology problem which plagued me for years . He has been open minded, listened well and taught me to use a non-pharmaceutical rinse to fend off infections. He offered food sensitivity testing not offered in other physician practices. Eliminating foods which scored high as having an blood immunologic response has calmed down my systemic inflammation. Blood inflammatory markers, swelling and overall discomfort have decreased, improving my quality of life

Very thorough, excellent thinker & trouble shooter down to the last detail. An outstanding professional.

Recommended to me by an emergency room physician, Dr. Vaughn traced my severe allergic reactions to a hereditary condition. In the process, he also determined I had a severe cedar allergy! During a recent annual visit, I shared symptoms I thought related to seasonal allergies, but he suspected something else, explained the condition, a procedure, and recommended a specialist. Spot on diagnosis. Specialist - great! First peace I've experienced in months! Can't recommend him more highly.
Many persons have been told by physicians that their symptoms are due to nasal allergy without testing to confirm this diagnosis. Allergy testing either by blood work (RAST) or skin testing allows the physician to match the timing of the symptoms to a season or trigger. For example, if nasal congestion were thought to be seasonal during the winter (Mountain Cedar pollination time), but allergy testing was negative for Cedar, then allergy medications would be the wrong treatment.
