I had a knee replacement and when I woke up from surgery I found out he had fractured my tibia and told me it would heal in 4-6 weeks. It has now been 6 months and has not healed, I have suffered terribly from this surgery and his staff treated me like I was a drug addict. I regret coming to Mayo and having this surgery, as now I still have another 3 -6 months of healing from the fracture in my tibia.

Dr Taunton and his staff are the best. They have replaced my left hip joint and both knees. I am 74 and get around like I was 60. I highly recommend him.

I searched for a Dr to examine a very painful knee replacement that had been done elsewhere. I wanted a Dr. that had completed a residency & fellowship. I found Dr. Taunton and saw his great reviews. During this search, one of my hips deteriorated rapidly. Hip was replaced first with anterior approach. Within a couple months, it felt completely normal. Knee was then revised with MUCH relief. Not only is Dr. Taunton very skilled, he listens, is kind and cares. That's not always easy to find.

Dr. Taunton replaced my left hip using the anterior access approach. I had no pain following surgery and no pain throughout therapy. The only slight discomfort was the healing of the access area which was very minor. I strongly recommend Dr. Taunton and his excellent staff to anyone requiring replacement surgery.

I received a double hip replacement from Dr Taunton in May of 2015. It is now May of 2016 and I couldn't be happier. Dr. Taunton recommended that I have both hips done at the same time as he said they were both full of arthritis and he said I would be back in 5 months wanting the other hip done if I only did one. My recovery went extremely well with the anterior approach. I could drive a car in 4 weeks and this past winter I went downtown skiing in Tahoe, Nevada!
