Care Philosophy

This content was provided by Dr. Robbins "Treat the patient as you would diagnose and treat a family member. Talk to the patient and not "at" the patient. Carefully listen to the problem and come up with a logical treatment plan. It is welcomed that patients read and to be informed about their medical condition but be careful not to self-diagnose. There are a plethora of overlapping symptoms for many conditions and our duty is to determine the most strategic way to sort out any problem and get specific in regard to treatment. This may involve other specialists who are trusted colleagues with the same philosophy to aid in the diagnosis and treatment. Most diagnoses can be achieved by listening to the patient and performing the lost art of a careful physical examination. Lastly, nothing comes without effort and the patient is an important player in getting better where it is expected that they too are part of the solution toward improvement. "
