For the majority of my career I have practiced medicine in North Carolina. I have practiced in different settings including both large community health clinics and private practice. I have found that the basic tenet of medicine stands true: %"Listen to your patient and they will for the most part tell you what ails them.%" Recently in my career I have focused on providing primary care at the corporate level. I have found that companies are only as strong as the health of their employees. Through this type of practice I am able to apply the principles of both internal medicine and public health in an effort to improve the health of groups of patients. Outside of medicine I spend the vast majority of my time involved in family and community activities. I have a large and extended family. I truly believe that community and family are one in the same.
