Outstanding Experience
From my initial research, I found the Boston Hernia Center website to be be comprehensive, informative and easy to navigate. Lot's of good information which answered most of the questions. My appointment with Lauren and Dr. Fullington was very thorough but personable and reassuring. My wife and I left feeling comfortable and confident that we had made the right decision. Dr Reinhorn performed the surgery at Newton Wellesley Hospital and everything was first class. All the personnel and medical staff were professional and efficient. There was never any "down time" and the entire process was run like a well-drilled team. I checked in at 7:00am and was out by 12:30pm. Prior to the surgery Dr. Reinhorn came by to speak to me and my wife and explained exactly what he was going to do. He answered all our questions and the bilateral hernia surgery was completed without anything unexpected. There was no grogginess or pain. I only took acetaminophen and ibuprofen. Excellent!

Surgery Experience
I had a great experience with Dr. Reinhorn; from the first consultation, to the pre-op review, to surgery, and follow up, everything was explained in terms I understood, there were no surprises, and the surgery itself was flawless. I feel great, and I feel that if I did have a problem, there is a robust and readily available support system in place. I would strongly recommend Dr. Reinhorn and his team to anyone considering hernia surgery; they were outstanding.

Dr. Reinhorn - Hernia surgery
I am 78 years old. Dr. Reinhorn recently did my inguinal hernia surgery and I an very pleased with his work and the entire process at Newton Wellesley Hospital. It all couldn't have gone more smoothly and I was in and out of the hospital in only 2 1/2 hours. He was able to make me feel comfortable about the procedure before the surgery. He's a real 5 star doctor in my book !!

Best Hernia Surgeon in Boston area.
Great Surgeon. Dr Reinhorn is very knowledgeable. He addresses all your concerns and questions. He Is an expert in this area of surgeries and is up-to-date with the latest surgical techniques. I had an inguinal hernia. My surgery had no issues. I had no postop pain and did not need any kind of pain medication. I took all the care doctor provided and was working and driving the first week and resumed my activities in 2 weeks.

Boston Hernia (FIVE STARS)
Dr. Reinhorn is the very best surgeon in his practice, look no further you’ve found the help you’re looking for. I had hernia surgery on 3/13/20 by a different surgeon and immediately felt something was wrong. Being on worker’s comp was very daunting in trying to find a surgeon who could fix my first hernia repair. Worker’s Comp then referred me to a hip surgeon, who then performed A hip labrum repair on 7/20/21. I was still experiencing great discomfort from my hernia repair. After two years and legal Council, I was able to get worker’s comp to approve my hernia repair surgery on 9/26/22. All along it was a Femoral hernia, and not an Inguinal hernia. I haven’t been this comfortable in what feels forever. Thank you so much to the entire team at Boston Hernia & Pilonidal Center!!!

Excellent Surgeon
Dr. Reinhorn is an incredibly skilled surgeon. He repaired my femoral hernia. The results from surgery were immediate. I had little to no recovery pain and felt completely back to normal within one week. Most importantly, my quality of life has improved significantly since surgery. No more discomfort and pain from my hernia, which means I can sleep through the night. I feel a lot stronger physically and feel like this surgery has changed my life. I would highly recommend Dr Reinhorn.

Highly recommend Dr. Reinhorn
I had put off addressing my hernia for some time, but its progression made it clear I had to do so. Dr. Reinhorn was recommended to me by a colleague who had also been a past patient for an inguinal hernia repair. Dr. Reinhorn was amazing from the beginning--clear, interested, and very knowledgeable about all aspects of the procedure. His staff was also very helpful and friendly. The surgery went extremely well and my recovery has been smooth. At the 3 week mark, I feel no limitations or pain except occasionally at the surgical site (normal). In short, I could not be more pleased--or relieved--with the care I received before, during or after. I highly recommend Dr. Reinhorn.

Highly Recommend
Dr. Reinhorn performed inguinal hernia with mesh surgery on me earlier this month, July, 2022. He was recommended to me by a surgical nurse who worked at the hospital. As my wife was also a surgical nurse, I know to trust their recommendations. During my pre-surgical appointment, Dr. Reinhorn was thorough in his examination, explained what he found, and what the recommended surgery would entail. I felt I was in capable hands. The surgery went well, and the overall experience at the Newton Wellesley Hospital was quite positive. I did have some pain after the surgery for a few days, but after a week I had hardly any pain at all. My post-op appointment was with Lauren Rachel Ott, PA-C. Again I was treated with great care and respect, never felt hurried, and has all my questions answered. I would highly recommend Dr. Reinhorn and his staff.

Go to this doctor if you have a hernia
This is the doctor you want to go to if you need hernia surgery. I have numerous health issues and their office went out of the way to accommodate me. First off I cant take NSAIDs or Acetaminophen. When I was given narcotics in the past they provided zero pain relief to me. Not common but it does happen. Dr Reinhorn and his office went above and beyond to order a numbing agent so I would not be completely miserable after the surgery. It worked very well. I also had a no mesh Shouldice surgery done which is supposed to be more painful. Im 4 weeks post op now no pain and getting better every week. The first couple days I just iced the area and did fine. While it was not the most comfortable thing I was still able to sleep and get around with no pain medication of any kind.

Keep an "open" mind
When deciding about hernia surgery, I assumed I'd have a laparoscopic procedure. Who wouldn’t choose a “minimally invasive” technique vs one that was “open”? Dr. Reinhorn’s website was informative, but the extensive content was so unlike typical medical sites, it almost made me skeptical. It took lots of research and self-persuasion to choose Dr. Reinhorn. Two facts made it easier: First, my calls to MGH’s hernia team revealed about half the docs there perform open procedures. He wasn’t an outlier. Second, his reviews here. No one else had 100 reviews and all 5’s. I had the surgery 2 weeks ago. My results were like others here: minimal discomfort for 2-3 days (only when engaging my core getting in and out of bed), no meds, walking ¼ mile in 2 days, pain-free throughout. A real surprise. Couldn’t be happier. If you’re reading here, keep an open mind about the term “open” (sorry) and consider Dr. Reinhorn. I'm thrilled I got over my initial misgivings and turned to him.

Excellent surgeon
Dr Reinhorn and his PA Lauren Ott performed surgery to repair a large inguinal hernia. The entire experience I had with everyone at Boston Hernia Center was excellent and exceeded my expectations. The information they gave me, and that was available on their website, explained exactly what was going to happen before, during and after the surgery. I had a few days of discomfort after the surgery that was controlled with over the counter medication and within 10 days I was feeling back to normal.
