Highly recommend Dr. Reinhorn
I had put off addressing my hernia for some time, but its progression made it clear I had to do so. Dr. Reinhorn was recommended to me by a colleague who had also been a past patient for an inguinal hernia repair. Dr. Reinhorn was amazing from the beginning--clear, interested, and very knowledgeable about all aspects of the procedure. His staff was also very helpful and friendly. The surgery went extremely well and my recovery has been smooth. At the 3 week mark, I feel no limitations or pain except occasionally at the surgical site (normal). In short, I could not be more pleased--or relieved--with the care I received before, during or after. I highly recommend Dr. Reinhorn.

Highly Recommend
Dr. Reinhorn performed inguinal hernia with mesh surgery on me earlier this month, July, 2022. He was recommended to me by a surgical nurse who worked at the hospital. As my wife was also a surgical nurse, I know to trust their recommendations. During my pre-surgical appointment, Dr. Reinhorn was thorough in his examination, explained what he found, and what the recommended surgery would entail. I felt I was in capable hands. The surgery went well, and the overall experience at the Newton Wellesley Hospital was quite positive. I did have some pain after the surgery for a few days, but after a week I had hardly any pain at all. My post-op appointment was with Lauren Rachel Ott, PA-C. Again I was treated with great care and respect, never felt hurried, and has all my questions answered. I would highly recommend Dr. Reinhorn and his staff.

Go to this doctor if you have a hernia
This is the doctor you want to go to if you need hernia surgery. I have numerous health issues and their office went out of the way to accommodate me. First off I cant take NSAIDs or Acetaminophen. When I was given narcotics in the past they provided zero pain relief to me. Not common but it does happen. Dr Reinhorn and his office went above and beyond to order a numbing agent so I would not be completely miserable after the surgery. It worked very well. I also had a no mesh Shouldice surgery done which is supposed to be more painful. Im 4 weeks post op now no pain and getting better every week. The first couple days I just iced the area and did fine. While it was not the most comfortable thing I was still able to sleep and get around with no pain medication of any kind.

Great experience and result
I had hernia surgery performed by Dr. Reinhorn and his team. I couldn't be more satisfied. I feel so much better, and the needed surgical incision is almost undetectable just a few weeks out. Thank you!

Keep an "open" mind
When deciding about hernia surgery, I assumed I'd have a laparoscopic procedure. Who wouldn’t choose a “minimally invasive” technique vs one that was “open”? Dr. Reinhorn’s website was informative, but the extensive content was so unlike typical medical sites, it almost made me skeptical. It took lots of research and self-persuasion to choose Dr. Reinhorn. Two facts made it easier: First, my calls to MGH’s hernia team revealed about half the docs there perform open procedures. He wasn’t an outlier. Second, his reviews here. No one else had 100 reviews and all 5’s. I had the surgery 2 weeks ago. My results were like others here: minimal discomfort for 2-3 days (only when engaging my core getting in and out of bed), no meds, walking ¼ mile in 2 days, pain-free throughout. A real surprise. Couldn’t be happier. If you’re reading here, keep an open mind about the term “open” (sorry) and consider Dr. Reinhorn. I'm thrilled I got over my initial misgivings and turned to him.

Excellent surgeon
Dr Reinhorn and his PA Lauren Ott performed surgery to repair a large inguinal hernia. The entire experience I had with everyone at Boston Hernia Center was excellent and exceeded my expectations. The information they gave me, and that was available on their website, explained exactly what was going to happen before, during and after the surgery. I had a few days of discomfort after the surgery that was controlled with over the counter medication and within 10 days I was feeling back to normal.

No-Mesh Repair---- Great Job!
Back in the 90's, I had an open-mesh hernia repair on the right side. It bothered me for several years. When I developed a hernia on the left side in 2020, my original surgeon was no longer in practice, but the surgeon I saw in San Francisco told me I needed to have a laparoscopic procedure. Quick, easy, and fast recovery, he said. Yes, but requires general anesthesia and they still use mesh. Looking for an alternative, I found Dr. Reinhorn on line. I got on a plane and went to see him in the Boston area. Found him to be knowledgeable and very patient-friendly. I was very nervous and asked a ton of questions. He answered them all. Had the procedure done by him at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. Very quick--- in and out the same day. I was walking on the beach at home that afternoon, in contrast to my previous operation where I was in bed for 3 days! Now, a year later, I feel great. Very minimal scar. I do any activity I want. My experience with Dr. Reinhorn was very positive---Recommended!

Fantastic, expert, efficient, personalized care!
The office visit was quiet, clean, professional, not rushed. Dr. Reinhorn fully explained my hernia situation, discussed surgical options, and gave evidenced based medical advice. The surgery occurred at the Boston Outpatient Surgical Suites and that experience too was extremely professional by the staff. Dr. Reinhorn reviewed the surgery beforehand and explained the successful surgery postoperatively. Postoperatively, I experienced only minor soreness at the incision which was easily controlled by a couple of doses of ibuprofen. Dr. Reinhorn is a professional and caring surgeon and I would strongly recommend his surgical services!

A Good Experience
Dr. Reinhorn and Dr. Fullington performed 2 inguinal surgeries on me several weeks ago. I was impressed that they were able to do both hernias. They were knowledgeable, professional, and very kind. It was a good experience and I was so happy to have taken the steps to undergo this surgery with two very qualified surgeons who came highly recommended to me.

Dr Reinhorn explained the procedure very well. He answered all my questions pre operation. I went to Boston Hernia because I was scheduled for surgery at another hospital, but when I was told there was a 10% chance of chronic pain post surgery, I canceled the surgery and went back to my primary care doctor to find out other options. He recommended Boston Hernia which has a much higher rate of success for this surgery. I went forward with surgery with Dr Reinhorn and am not experiencing any abnormal or chronic pain.

Dr Reinhorn and staff were great. He quickly diagnosed my problem (which had been overlooked by many other doctors) and walked me through the process in a very patient way. On the day of surgery the team was great, the process was easy, and I had my bilateral hernia repair. All went well and I am now 3.5 weeks out and continue to improve. One side had a bit more inflammation than the other and was a little more irritating in the first 7-10 days but all in all it is within the range of what I expected. A couple of days after surgery I did notice that difference in discomfort between the two sides and called the office to be sure it was normal and Dr Reinhorn made time for me within a few hours to have me in the office to confirm all was well and to quell my concerns. Indeed everything was fine, each case can be a bit different, and it just needed time to heal and each day has been better and better. I am now able to do most activities and will start athletic training again in two d

I saw Dr. Reinhorn for treatment of a pilonidal cyst that would not heal properly after being treated for it elsewhere. After a few months of conservative treatment, we decided the cleft lift surgery would be the best long term option for me. I was very nervous about the surgery and the recovery, but I am about 4 weeks post-op now and I feel great! If you take your recovery seriously and follow Dr. Reinhorn's instructions, you have a very good change of ridding yourself of your pilonidal. I would strongly recommend Dr. Reinhorn and his team to anyone dealing with pilonidal disease.
