Dr Miranda has received numerous awards for outstanding patient care, as an outstanding educator as well as for Humanitarian work as a volunteer in Landstuhl Germany with the US Armed Services. He attended medical school at the University of Connecticut where he also completed his 5 year residency in Orthopedic Surgery. He completed a one-year fellowship in Trauma in Pittsburgh where he helped care for the NHL Pittsburgh Penguins. Dr. Miranda then completed other fellowships in both Switzerland and Germany. He sees patients for shoulder and knee problems; complex fractures including pelvis and acetabulum, as well as nonunions and malunions. He has extensive experience in osteotomies of the bone. His professional activities include acting as Director of Orthopedic Trauma at Hartford Hospital; He is International Chair of Community Development for AOTrauma Foundation a volunteer organization dedicated to patient care. He has given over 170 lectures worldwide and authored numerous papers and book chapters. He has been recognized by the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons for his volunteer work educating US Armed Forces surgeons in trauma management.
