This doctor seems like a perfectly nice guy but he’s not a great doctor. I went to him because I was really sick with a persistent cough. He was dismissive and told me it was viral and I should take otc products. A day later I was diagnosed with pneumonia by a walk in clinic. Either he missed...more

Strengths: Short waiting time, fast and efficient. Gets the job done. Weaknesses: Overworked and can get impatient if any lab/procedure/document requests is needed. Cannot blame him since most primary care physicians are overworked, but he openly shows his frustration and makes errors when he...more

This review is unfortunate but also inaccurate. While patient privacy restrictions constrain me from discussing the details here, the author of this review was not present during any of the interactions we had with her husband and therefor is not aware of what I discussed or advised. I am sorry that this wife feels her husband's experience was not a good one. We always strive to provide the best care possible but at the same time this review does not accurately reflect the facts of the case.

Mr Prager was long time patient of ours in private practice. When we moved around the corner to join NYU he was unhappy with the front desk experience. I spoke to him personally about his complaints. We take patient input seriously and have made changes in response to these comments. As a result of these changes we now often receive a great deal of unsolicited positive feedback from patients about our office staff but continue to take suggestions from patients to improve our service.

I have been seeing Dr. Melgar for about 10 years and I wouldn't ever consider going to another doctor. He is so thorough and really takes the time to explain EVERYTHING to you, from the cause of your symptoms down to the medication he is prescribing you. He really wants you to have an...more
