My father died of a heart attack when I was in my teens. I remember the pain and fear of that event. I try to bring that experience to my patients and my practice. I want to be the doctor my family needed. I may not always achieve that goal, but my efforts have been noticed by many of my patients, and that gives me great pride. I believe all doctors should put themselves in the patients place and treat the patient the way they would want to be treated. I believe a physician should perform procedures at the skill level they would want for themselves. For the procedures I do, I make an effort to stay updated and maintain my skills at the highest level. If I don't feel like an expert at something, i leave it to those who are. I enjoy the practice of cardiology because of the positive impact I can make on a patient. One of the biggest complements I receive is when a patient refers a family or friend. I have been fortunate to have many such referrals over the years.
