I took my husband there for Alzheimer's. He talked about football for 30 minutes and not about my husband and ignored me totally. Loaded him up on meds that made both our lives a hell. I threw the meds in the trash. Switchboard is horrible and always busy. Do not go there. We will never go back. Did nothing to help. A waste of time.

He did some tests, seemed interested in helping me. On my third visit, he said something negative about "Obamacare", and when I told him my family was able to afford healthcare now, and that I had been helped by it as well, he completely changed his attitude, told me my conditions were due to my diet, even though he had no idea what I eat, and told me to get on the Paleo diet. That was it. My condition has worsened greatly, and I don't know what to do, or where to go!

After 2 1/2 years and 12 doctors Dr. McCaffrey correctly diagnosed my condition. I am now under his care and have had relief. He's a great, caring human being.

Went with my husband to see this so called specialist. I found him rude, obnoxious, condescending, so full off himself. No empathy at all. One of my husbands other doctors wanted us to get an opinion from him about a certain brace he thought may help his drop foot. He actually had to the nerve to say why didn't the other doctor write the prescription because now he had to deal with questions from insurances. He even corrected my use of word, like he was an English teacher. Don't go to him.

I agree with the comment about him being condescending and a know-it-all, without the competence I expected. He told me I had a normal 890 year old brain, then told my primary doctor I had Mild Cognitive Impairment, often a precursor to Alzheimers. He also gave me a prescription for Aracept (given to Alzheimer patients) and said it would help my memory, AND that HE was going to take it next time his Board exams came up, as his memory wasn't too good anymore! I 'fired' him after one visit!
in North Myrtle Beach, SC |
What an absolute condescending, arrogant, dismissive, poor example of a doctor. His know-it-all attitude and presumptive conclusion left me livid. But, as he told me, he is the doctor and I am not. His office staff is personable but when you call in, the call goes to voice mail and you don't get a call back. It took me over a week to talk to a real person! Save yourself the time and frustration and make the trip to Myrtle Beach. You can bet that's where I will go.
in West Columbia, SC |
He talked a lot about himself, for a long time. Also he gave me a prescription I did not need and said it would improve my memory. I felt like he just wanted me to go back in 3 months. I checked with my primary care physician and they told me not to take the prescription. I also paid the day I was there and I was billed again.
in North Myrtle Beach, SC |
He was a very dismissive, assembly line style doctor. Mr. I know everything, Im a doctor and you're thr patient. No urge to help me, just very quick to perscribe me something and not get to the actual problem. Wouldn't reccommend him to my worst enemy. Office was very pleasant but doesnt make up for his arrogance and dismissive behavior. If I could give him 0 stars, I would.
