I would highly recommend Dr. Michael Kirk as an orthopedic surgeon. My left knee was rubbing bone on bone when he performed a knee replacement. Now I have no pain and I can attend dance class at the Lexington Senior Center three times a week. He is a gifted surgeon and a caring and trustworthy professional.

I have been treated by Dr. Kirk for about three years for knee problems. I considered him an outstanding professional, who explors multiple oprions for knee treatment. He has a pleasant, caring personality, and I have full confidence in his medical knowledge. I recently learned that he served 12 years active military duty, including medical deployments to Iraq combat zones. I have great respect for that service, being a retired officer with multiple combat tours.

I went to Dr. Kirk because I have a bad knee. I brought my x-rays for his review and he said you have bone on bone and bone spurs behind your knee but I don't recommend surgery. I asked him if he could give me an injection. He said no that would only be a temporary fix and told me to come back in 6 months. I have continued to suffer with my knee so I decided to get a second opinion. This doctor told me I definitely needed surgery plus gave me a steroid shot and ordered a brace for my knee.

Having just had total bi lateral knee replacement surgery, I would highly recommend Dr. Kirk to anyone. He is a kind, compassionate, empathetic, man who also happens to be a great doctor/surgeon. Since my surgery and rehab, I can't tell you how many people have asked me who did my surgery. Without hesitation I have been pleased to say to all of them "Dr. Kirk". In addition, Dr. Kirk's office staff are caring, empathetic, and compassionate people who display a genuine interest in their patients.

I hit the jackpot having Dr. Kirk perform my double knee replacement. The surgery went very smoothly and I am healing very fast. The nurses told me they can tell which surgeon did the surgery by how neat the incisions were, he cauterized all the blood vessels so there was no blood or leakage, just smooth scars. He is a very caring doctor who listens to his patients. Also, asking my permission to say a prayer before my surgery just blew me away. You cannot find a better doctor!

I had both right hip and left knee replacement. I had almost no limp with my hip in just over 2 weeks. Was able to work as horseshoer in about 2 months. Outstanding. My total knee replacement was completed a week ago. I am able to walk around the house without crutch or cane one week after surgery. Knee stiff but able to flex to 110 degrees already. "Every" nurse and assistant that I spoke to had the highest praise for Dr Kirk's surgical ability and his great personality

I have seen two other orthopedic surgeons for degenerative knee problems, and I find Dr. Kirk by far the best. He did a physical examination of my knees that was far more extensive than those by previous doctors. He went over the x rays with me in detail and answered my questions with patience and understanding, and he has a super friendly medical assistant. I would not hesitate to have surgery with him if that becomes appropriate. This was my first visit and I have a follow up appointment.
