I was seen by Dr. Kessler yesterday for what turned out to be a ruptured tendon. Because several of the reviews mentioned long wait times, I brought a book and was prepared. The staff kept us all informed about the wait times, which I appreciated. The medical staff who examined/questioned me before I was seen by Dr. Kessler were very pleasant and thorough. Dr. Kessler himself was very professional in his examination/diagnosis and even displayed a good sense of humor. Overall good experience

I rarely write reviews. But, I am so impressed with the level of care that Dr. Kessler provides and with his superb professional expertise that I wanted to share my experience. I live in another state, but opted for hand surgery in D.C. after consulting with Dr. Kessler. Instead of facing years of pain, Dr. Kessler performed surgery that was not only successful, but which has improved my quality of life. He listens, explains procedures and the recovery period and answers all of your questions.

Dr. Kessler did a great job repairing my knees when I was admitted to MSGU Hospital through the Emergency Department -- even though that was not his specialty. This Fall, I went back to see him on a hand-related matter and received full and complete examination and diagnosis. Dr. Kessler was very generous with his time and described three options for treatment,

I'm thankful to have met and been treated by Dr. Kessler, who I first saw as an emergency walk-in patient the day before Thanksgiving. Reassuring and knowledgeable, he mended my left thumb and said it would heal properly. I mentioned numbness and pain in my right hand. He ordered nerve tests that revealed severe carpal tunnel, x-rays showed stage 4 arthritis, surgery was recommended. He answered many questions, called to check on me, advised best med schedule to keep ahead of pain. Clone him!

After 2 previous lessthen successful surgeries performed by other Dr.'s, I was not extremely thrilled at first to meet the man who'd be performing my 3rd surgery. My elbow was in a lot of pain, deformed from previous surgeries, and I have heard it all. But, regardless, I gave Dr. Kessler a chance and put my confidence in him. Sure enough, to my surprise the surgery this time around went fantastic! It's been 2 months and I have had no pain at all with almost full movement returned! ThnxDrKessler!

Dr. Kessler is the preeminent surgeon in hand/wrist surgery and Chief of Georgetown Orthopaedic Institute. I'm delighted with the outcome of my hand surgery, as the hand was painful and deformed from osteoarthritis. Pain is gone-post-surgery range of motion is greater than anticipated. He is attentive to patient concerns, explains surgical procedures and monitors progress post-surgery by consultation with Occupational Therapist. It has been a privilege to be Dr. Kessler's patient. Very pleased!

Dr. Kessler exemplifies assured, competent professionalism. He explained in detail why surgery was the best approach to addressing my advanced thumb and forefinger issues. He clarified beforehand (both on early visit and on the day of) how surgery would proceed, and included family members, who could ask questions of their own. I am very pleased with the results: just 10 weeks after surgery functionality is better than before the surgery, and pain is mostly non-existent.
