Michael Gloth, III, MD, FACP, AGSF, CMD Dr. Michael Gloth is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Geriatric Medicine and Gerontology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, a Clinical Professor of Medicine at Florida State University College of Medicine, and an Adjunct Associate Professor of Epidemiology and Public Health at the University of Maryland. He is, also, President and CEO of AMDG Naples 100 Senior Concierge and Consulting, LLC. Dr. Gloth is the former Director of Geriatrics Ambulatory Services at the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutes. Dr. Gloth, a Baltimore native, received his B.S. in Chemistry and Biology from the College of William and Mary in Virginia and his M.D. from Wayne State University School of Medicine. He completed his Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine at the Union Memorial Hospital in 1987 and a 3-year Fellowship in Geriatric Medicine and Gerontology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 1990. After working as a full-time faculty member there until 1993, he left to Chair the Division of Geriatrics at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore and created their Geriatrics Fellowship Program. Subsequently, he ran a successful practice in Geriatrics Medicine (Victory Springs Senior Health Associates), was Corporate Medical Director for Mid-Atlantic Health Care, a chain of LTC facilities, and CMO of a continuing care retirement community. He was president of Smart E-Records, LLC, an electronic medical records corporation, and of two not-for-profit (501c3) foundations. Dr. Gloth, a Fellow in the American College of Physicians and the American Geriatrics Society, served on the Advisory Committee to the 2005 White House Conference on Aging, the National Advisory Council on Aging to NIH and on national guideline panels for pain relief, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, for revision of the Beers Criteria on drugs to be avoided in older adults and for the American Geriatrics Society recommendations for vitamin D in older adults, published in 2014. Prior to his move to Naples, he served as President of the Baltimore City Medical Society and the Hospice Network of Maryland, as a member of the Medical and Scientific Advisory Board of the Greater Maryland Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association, and as the first Geriatrician on the Maryland Board of Physicians. In 2015, he chaired the Collier County American Heart Association Heart Walk netting > $400,000 for the one day event. Currently, he serves on the Health in Aging Foundation Board. His publications are extensive, including medical informatics, in-patient geriatric units (ACE or GEM units), medication management in older adults, Handbook of Pain Relief in Older Adults and an International Book Award winner, Fit at Fifty and Beyond. Dr. Gloth has been the recipient of numerous grants and awards, which have included: multiple listings in Who's Who® and in Best Doctors in America®, and, in 2006, he was named Clinician of the Year by the American Geriatrics Society.
