Patient Comments (25)

I did not feel that the staff was helpful or supportive. Making appointments was always at least a week away. When you are in pain and no relief is offered, a week feels like a lifetime. He provides no prescription pain medication and if the process does not locate the site of the cause of pain,...more

We strive to treat all patients as if they are family members. Our staff clearly state when patients are making their new patient appointments that ViSP providers do not prescribe narcotics at new patient appointments but rather often use other modalities to help control pain. We also do our best to get patients in as soon as possible but do have to wait for the insurance carriers to authorize your visit and must wait for documentation from them to reach our office before you can be scheduled.

My first shot given to me was at the surgery center and it was not even a steroid shot. It was a shot of lidocaine that was explained afterwards as an exploratory shot to ensure the area was correct. $820 later, I was told that it was the patient's responsibility to know their insurance and how...more

Our providers use an evidence based approach with diagnostic blocks to pinpoint the source of the pain. The next step may be for therapeutic injections using steroid medications. Our billing dept staff go above and beyond industry standards to help patients determine their out of pocket costs ahead of time for their visits. It is ultimately the patient's responsibility to contact their insurance provider and understand what their expenses will be based on the insurance plan they have selected.

If his only problem was he has no personality I would give him 5 stars. I was a number to Dr. DePalma and only a number.. When you are in severe pain you need someone who is there for you. This doctor is NOT. He gives you shots etc but if they don't work that's it for you. I saw him once I his...more

It is unfortunate you feel this way. Finding relief from pain can take time. At ViSP, the physicians focus on diagnosing the source of the pain before moving moving forward and this may take multiple visits. I can assure you our physicians never gave up on you as you imply. Every year our practice brings on new Fellow Physicians in training, for a one year program, which allows Dr. DePalma to mentor and train others in his field. This has always been the ViSP model. We wish you good luck.

I came to Dr. DePalma having to use a cane to walk due to my lower back and severe leg pain. He correctly diagnosed what the problem was and recommended what had to be done. I am now about 90% recovered, not needing a cane to walk and I look forward to getting to the remaining 10%. Dr. DePalma and...more
